It was bound to happen-life can't always be an upward rise especially after the killer 2-3 weeks I've had. This is a short update because it really is all hands on deck in my life right now.

Positives:

Faith: I went deeply into the study of my faith and I legitimately am feeling mentally stronger and cleansed. Im learning more each day and its really served as a pillar in this time of chaos and upheaval.
Cardio: I ran a sub 6 minute mile. Thats awesome.
Writing: my non fiction writing has improved tremendously.
Online learning: Currently taking a cryptography lecture class on youtube and a CS class as well.
I applied to jobs: I applied to a bunch of jobs, have not heard back so who knows…

Negatives:

Spring class is almost up: This means another final exam is around the corner.
Lost my university standing: I'm officially kicked out for a year if not even longer. If I return it will probably have to be to the arts faculty even and I don't know if I wanna blow student loan debt on an arts degree. Im panicking- my parents don't know but I will survive. I will survive.

Im panicking but calm- I credit the renewed faith for that. Really nervous. Kills my game with women especially when your entire life & identity as a student on the rise has essentially collapsed.

At the same time though- I am grateful. I have many friends graduating with some bullshit degree that they dont really care about and life is simply going to have at em later.

Well. I guess I'm making a positive progress.

I made myself a schedule and every night before going to sleep I arrange my next day. IT HELPS SO MUCH AND KEEPS ME ON TRACK for basically everything I want to do, especially things that I had hard times to get myself to (for example: homework). I'm still improving it with some excel formulas, if it will get good enough I'll share it here.
Deleting social media gives me so much time it's ridiculous. I'm just realizing it now. Many asked me why did I delete them on IG and FB and I just said that I've decided to delete my accounts. Every single one of them went with ''ooh god, I wish I could do that". I'm not kidding. Every single person. One good friend who is in medical school (I'm not sure if its the right terms, he is studying to become a doctor) said it's such a great move to make and he totally gets why I did it. So far so good :)
Two days ago I was on a friends wedding. I met many of my old friends from my milittary and we had so much fun there! I got a lot of compliments for my looks and the way I dresses (I do put effort into it).
There was even a part in this wedding that we all danced, and all of a sudden I see two of my friends give me this weird look, and one of them is pointing at a girl. I asked them what's up, and they said I'm an idiot. I asked why? and they just told me that she pushed them away to get to me, and when she got to my face I just turned her down. I did not even notice that. To be honest, I saw her later and I do not think she looks good, but again, working out and taking care of myself does it's thing, that kind of stuff has never happened to me.
There are still two things I struggle with: One is NOFAP which the most I can keep is 2 days, after that I go crazy and can't even think straight out of horniness, and other one is my approach anxiety which is also kind of shit.
I'm doing really well in my math class. Which brings me back to the first thing I wrote about my schedule and time. I became easily one of the best in my class because I can put a lot of time in it. I get asked a lot for help because people realize it. Feels good as well :)

Neutral:

Went to a crack den last Friday after the pub. A mate was on mandy and wanted coke. I basically escorted him. It was fucked up man. Like, these poor bastards all in a room together. I was speaking to one of them who was pretty self-aware, saying how you never want to get there, what mistakes he's made, etc.. It was pretty eye-opening, and rather sad in honesty. Some of them had been made redundant and had nobody and nowhere to turn to. It showed me how when shit hits the fan, you better have your own financial and mental security as it's not uncommon for nobody to give that much of a flying fuck about you.
Watched Blue Valentine today and I got a little emotional. I introspected a little and I think it comes down to me definitely not having completely swallowed the pill yet. This makes complete sense as I see myself as something of an 'armchair alpha', and definitely lack the reference experience needed to solidify all that I've read over the last couple of years (yes.. couple of years. Don't get into an LTR at Uni folks).
Moving back home today. Moving back in with my Mum and sister (short-term, thank fuck), so will be interesting to be around two emotional women. I think it will test my frame well, and I must see it as a test and not let it get to me mentally.

Positive:

Me and a workmate hosted my (now ex) company's pub quiz last Friday. It helped show me how I've grown as I was more than confident in this public speaking and didn't at all feel compelled to put on any sort of character in order to make the audience laugh. My mate did try going over-the-top, and it resulted in him conveying a lack of congruence, and I felt I was received better, even though I was just pretty chill and sarcastic.
Saw how far I could get with this bird from work. The pub quiz lay on my final day at work, and there's this married bird who's got a BB husband. When he went out to smoke she was showing IOIs, and I was grabbing her ass as she said "don't do that, I'm married. No but seriously, please do it, it feels good." I was literally doing this for reference experience - to see how real this fucking Matrix is. She was then saying how she'd do DP and was talking about different guys she'd fuck...
Been getting up between 05:30-06:30 since Sunday. I've found so far that I'm getting so much more done by midday, and thus don't feel that afternoon slump that I usually get. When I tire in the evenings I'm usually in bed at like half 9, and don't feel I've wasted a day.
Since getting up earlier and having finished my job, I've managed to get the foundation of my site (and a couple of posts) completed. I should see this live within the next few weeks.
Managed to talk to a couple of women at the gym. Much older, but it felt good proving to myself that I'm not completely autistic with women (these thoughts have been slushing about since being so afar from women in the last 10 or so months).
Little things like still reading every day, going for a walk when I feel really down, still getting PRs at the gym, still making profits from my buying and selling.

Negative:

Porn and masturbation has crept back into my life, and I'm disciplining myself to not watch porn, and have been getting better recently at abstaining from taking advantage of urges.
Missed last week's weekly improvement thread.
3 days of gym this week instead of 4. First time this has happened in a while. No excuses here.
Not happy with my body atm. First time I've ever bulked and I've learned the hard way that dirty bulking is (for me in this situation) most likely a sign of lacking discipline and is more for short-term gratification rather than long-term gain. I regret going dirty but will finish my bulk so I'd have put on a decent amount of muscle mass.

My fiancee (and girlfriend of 5 years) broke up with me a few weeks ago, also the day before my birthday. This sub has really help cleared my head and set short term goals. It's been pretty damn hard when you plan on spending the rest of your life with someone and they pull that shit on you. We do live together for another 2 months until our lease is up but I've been hitting the gym 3 days a week, cardio in between gym days, eating healthy and cutting out all the bad shit, and reading a lot more. I'm also in the middle of chasing the career of my dreams!

Positives:

I finished first year of university with a 4.0/4.3 GPA.
I'm the strongest I've ever been; I've been consistently going to the gym for the past 4 months at least 5 times per week.
Got the head counsellor job at a summer camp with no prior experience.
Just finished reading another book, really been working on making this a habit.
Had a ONS last weekend, first time in a couple months.

Negatives:

Can't seem to stop masturbating. I last a couple of days and then I can't resist. I will work on my self control.
My body fat is too high. I have trouble with portion control and would really like to be lean for the summer.
Got sucked into playing video games too much. It's a social thing - all my friends play it so it is tough for me to resist sometimes.

This week, I will work on fixing these negatives and continuing my progress at the gym.

On a side note, this thread is great for allowing us to reflect on our progress and to develop goals to continue improving.

Positives:

Got my first app approved for the Mac App store. I think it's an okay idea and fairly priced so we'll see how it fares. Marketing/design are shit though, I should come up with an update which fixes those.
Started a new muscle building program for the month of June. I am near my all-time record weight of 183 pounds but I expected to pass it already. Next week I will get there.
Built websites for my first app and the second which is on the way. Also made a personal site to tie it all together and also start a blog. They are crude right now but will get better.

Negatives:

Still didn't quite manage to figure out how to wake up early naturally without fucking up my sleep. I need rest in order to cope with the physical and mental demands, but would also like to shift my wake time earlier. I am going to try sleeping with the curtains open and let the sun influence my circadian rhythm instead of relying solely on alarm clocks.
I find myself procrastinating more than I'd like. I need to start the day better, by first doing the most important thing.
I wanted to work on my own music in the evenings and I only managed to do so in two evenings I think. I need to be careful not to skip over these, otherwise I'll make no progress.

This is my first time writing in one of these threads, so here's my starting point.

POSITIVES

Been practicing Stoicism for the last month or so. For the first time in my life I feel in control of my emotions. I used to have emotional breakdowns and lose my cool often, but now I just feel constantly neutral or amused.
- I recently bought some new clothes and I've started dressing better. I used to wear exclusively t-shirts and jeans, now it's short sleeve button ups, Henleys, and v-necks. Because of it I've gotten more responses from women.
- I've been getting good results when I talk to girls. I've talked to several girls recently in a dominant, constantly amused way that usually results in them getting closer to me and giving me tons of IOIs. Even from regular banter with a girl I sit next to in class, she gave me her number without me even asking. My social skills have gotten much better, going from someone who would rarely talk to being able to lead conversations.
- I've been starting to live a healthier lifestyle. I'm overweight and have addiction issues, but I recently gave up weed and drinking, started eating better (keto), started taking care of my hygeine better, and now I take a cold shower every morning.

NEGATIVES

I haven't gotten laid in at least a month. While my social skills are good, my approach anxiety and laziness had been taking hold while I was stressed over spring classes and work. I haven't been approaching girls or taking action, instead only really talking with people from work or classmates. I need to start setting cold approach girls and getting out there more. Some would say I'm in Monk Mode, but more involuntarily than anything. I tried Tinder for a while, but I'm not nearly attractive enough to get a positive return on that app.
I am overweight, and need to diet and hit the gym. I've started eating healthy again, but need to stick to it. I need to start going to the gym at my college, since it's been a long time. Hopefully by next Friday I'll have started LIFTING.
My sleep habits have been terrible for a while now. I started taking melatonin before bed, and I've been going to bed earlier, but I still need to work on waking up earlier.
I've had money issues for a while. Being young and in college, I'm not doing well in the money department (especially without rich parents like some of my peers). Working a part time job alongside student loans has kept me afloat, but barely. Going for a CS degree should definitely give me a good starting point career-wise, but for the next 3 years I'll be pretty close to broke. Spending less money on junk food due to my diet should let me save up more though.

So overall I'm doing better every day, but I still need to work on myself more. If I can get a lock on my diet and exercise, and start cold approaching more and taking action, I'll be set to improve my SMV dramatically.

Continuing from last week;

Improvements, adding more weights to my lifts, seeing a noticeable difference at looks, completed 10 days no fap/porn/video games. Feel great and finding myself to be more social and personable. Making big leaps with songwriting, guitar, vocals.

Also scored a date with this girl i've been talking to. Haven't been in the game for a while this is a big score for me. The date had it's ups and downs and didn't end as well as I thought it did (lack of judgement and experience) Scored a second date though. Alot of this had to do with frame and my lack of judgement to leave the other couple that we met to focus on her as that could have got me further than hanging with randoms. Lesson learned i guess.

Gotta slow down on the alcohol when in social gatherings, I find alcohol loosens me up but throws your senses and judgement out the window, could have had a better end to the date if otherwise. I hardly drink as it is though for dietary reasons learned here. Lesson learned and still got date number two. It's a whole different world applying trp in the real world. It's like the whole system is trying to pull you back in. It's hard because no one can relate exept for people on this sub.

I've been looking to bulk from 170lbs to 185lbs in muscle mass to see how I enjoy it. Struggled during April and May to be consistent in the gym due to personal matters dropping to a low of 168lbs but now I've turned things around.

With a minor shift in approach to nutrition I've been able to increase my mass to 175lbs with personally made Chocolate Almond Milk, Almond nut, Peanut Butter, Whey, Wheat germ protein shakes as a high calorie, high protein (I make it up to as much as high as 70g+ in protein per serving) meal supplement/replacement. I'm targetting my weak areas (legs) to put on more dense muscle mass while implementing dropsets for my upperbody to produce more "burn" based growth. Things in the gym are progressing nicely.

Positivity

Turning off the social media abyss Deleted my old IG/Snapchat/reddit/twitter/Youtube. I was just following lot os trash, that really didn't add value to my life. Created a new one, and now just following few people on social media that I can benefit from in order to become a better man.

Red Pill reading After finishing up on the sidebar couple of months back, decided to start reading up on Rollo´s Rational male. Just finished with the first volume. About to start on Preventice medicine this weekend.

Workout *Its exactly a month now I have been working out. Lost quite a lot, and I feel emotionally great. Every workout session starts with a 30min cardio, where I run on a treadmill while listening to a podcast, or watching some youtube videos from 21convention. Lately been watching The Red Man group while doing that. A month before I could not even run 10 min without running out of breath so I'm proud of accomplishing being able to run half an hour.

Career going well Passed an exam which I was worried about with a flying color so happy for that. Big things coming up soon which im looking very much forward too

Mindset My mindset is stronger now. I see everything in my life from a red pill lens. I am now aware of my SMV, and where I would try to enter someone frame ( specially women) before, people now try to make an effort to be in my frame. And a lot of my female friends notice that, even family member. I'm more confident now.

Negativity

Still in contact with my ex. Emotionally i am over her. And would had deleted her long time ago. But the problem is during my beta state i broke up with her " in a wrong way", where i was just emotional over something she did and her behavior, and I ended up deleting and adding her multiple times. But now I don't want to delete her for thinking that I'm doing that because I'm still thinking about her or she has an influence. So i just keep her, but i dont initiate contact. At first, she was playing the cold game, but then when she noticed I stopped texting or initiating contact, she started doing that. I don't give her the attention or validation. But yes I see it as a negativity to have her around.

Hey all, I haven't posted at all really but to be honest. I've been improving on myself and reading a lot more that school is over and summer is around the corner.

Positives:

Reading: I am starting to read books. I am starting with Bruce Lee: Artist of Life. So far its more about his philosophies, his writings and way of life. Its amazing how he compares fights to life and of course water.

Another book I am about to start reading is Face Reading: Quick and Easy by Richard Webster. I thought this was a very interesting read or even browse through since everyone has their own faces to read and there are sections of the face that best tell you about an individual's persona. I'll update more as I read through it.

Exercise: I have started doing jiu-jitsu for both fun and to mentally and physically prepare myself for street readiness in case anything happens. (25M) I weigh about 145 now, I used to weigh close to 180 just a few months ago. I started classes about 2 weeks ago.

Diet: I have started to eat a lot more fruits, veggies, leaner meats and liquids/non-solids [ie: Apple sauce, fruits, shakes, smoothies] until after my Jiu-Jitsu class or during dinner.

Iron: I am a small walking stick compared to most my age or if you want to call me a ManLet. So I started picking up the random weights I had laying around my house. They range from 5lb to a 25lb (bowflex) dumbbells. I am doing basics like curls, tricep dips, squats, push-ups, sit ups and some Pull-ups. I already feel differences in my posture/stance, my stride(my walk), I don't have a belly like I used to, I have more happiness, confidence and DGAF attitude. For example: I was late to work today, by 30 minutes because I had Jiu-Jitsu class that ended at 11:45a.m and I was scheduled to be into work at 11:45a.m. in town 10-15 minutes away from class. I showed up casually and not in a rush because Eh.

Finances: It may not seem like a lot, but I used to have bills up the butt and now I’ve cut them down by paying them off and writing down notes to myself in a little notebook/notepad to track my paydays with due dates of things that need to be paid for. It’s helped so much that my ONE maxed credit card is now down to 100 dollars from the 1500 it was at. I am doing great.

Negatives:

Video Games: I still play video games (PC_Gamer) but I have been cutting it down. I used and can play all day if I wanted to while ignoring life and everything around me, but I have been slowly cutting down from 6-8 hours of play to 4-6 or even as low as an hour a day. I am now trying to play for one hour, while recording and eventually make a video overtime.

TLDR: Positives: reading, exercise, diet, iron and finances have gone up and improved. Negatives: I still play video games.(pcGames)

Today (Monday 11th June) I started a 30-day challenge. Although trying to follow the principle from the Power Of Less to focus on only one habit change at a time, for this first challenge, I've taken on more than normal as I believe I need to both break bad habits and build new ones to avoid slipping back.

The bad habits to break are:

no pornography
no TV or movies (except socially)
no social media (FB newsfeed) or news websites
no alcohol or drugs
no browsing YouTube watching music videos
no unplanned spending

The good habit I would like to introduce is the following of a morning routine and evening routine.

The morning routine is:

get up at 7am for work
immediately get out of bed and make the bed
on Mondays, take my weight
brush teeth
complete one task on Fortify (pornography addiction recovery program), and drink 700ml water
complete a 7-minute workout (using a phone app)
complete a 10-minute meditation (I use Headspace)
take my medications, and drink 700ml water
groom (shave, pluck eyebrows, trim nails)
shower (no longer than 10 minutes)
use skincare products

The evening routine is:

brush teeth and floss
write in my recovery journal for pornography addiction
plan my day tomorrow and set an alarm
layout clothes and bag for tomorrow
report on my current habit challenge (comment on this post for accountability)
read for 30 minutes
sleep at 10pm

I'm hoping that chaining these habits together will make it feasible to complete so much at once, but the main point is to develop the habits of following a morning and evening routine, even if I find I have to simplify these later. The most important challenge is to get up at 7am and go to bed at 10pm every day.

Pros

Routine

Cold baths are becoming less of a nuisance. Even though I've never seen days as cold as these, I keep taking them and they become more and more natural to me, as if I never took a hot shower in my life.
Was able to sleep a bit more, leaving my meditation to the beginning of each morning. Even though that means I have limited time to think, it surely is better than not meditating at all.
Went to the gym in all the three days I set myself up to.

Social

Nexted a chick who seemed to be losing interest and not being able to meet up at any date.
Slowly becoming friends with people with whom I didn't have much precious contact.
Dressed up as a famous writer from my country, changing my skin tone and all that. This helped me lose a bit more of my general embarassment.

Cons

Routine

Felt like I was lazier this week, leaving things to do at the last moment and being generally unorganized.
My weekly planning didn't work. I basically kept pushing obligations to another date until this week.
Broke my NoFap streak.

Social

My discussion with a colleague of mine got even worse. We're basically on an attrition war at the moment.
As a consequence of this fighting, I've lost a bit of contact with a few friends that associate mostly with him.

Learning

Even though I've been keeping on with my learning schedule, I didn't see any improvement this week. It might have just been a negative feedback loop, but it felt bad nonetheless.
Didn't learn absolutely anything about programming.

Challenges and goals

This week has been pretty shitty. Negative feedback loops took place, which didn't help my psychological state. Also, the daily attrition with this colleague of mine left me mentally exhausted pretty much every day of the week. I felt overall less happy this week, but I'm still trying to find the right balance between work and entertainment. As per my last challenge, I have been working on myself more when compared to the last week, but I've felt generally more exhausted at the end of it.

Nevertheless, my general challenge for this week is to find the right balance. I've been trying to delve into too much work at the same time, so it feels like my head is going to explode at any moment. Mostly my days consist of so much time being spent learning and hitting the gym that I feel like doing absolutely nothing after some ~4-5 hours of that. Even then, my day still feels short. Simply put, this week's challenge is to sort out my schedule.

Great:

Gave a successful presentation at a national conference.
Keeping better tabs on spending and finances; on track to spend nearly $400 less this month based on past averages.

Bad:

My back acne has been horrendous lately, even though skin care routine is on point. Could be elevated stress levels (probably related to the presentation) or I need to give in and try medication.
Neglecting daily responsibilities like cleaning the house and tending the yard. Making lists was helping a lot so need to get back into that habit.
Been too busy to hang out with LTR, haven't contacted her at all this past week. She hasn't been reaching out either, so might take it as a sign that it's time to dump her and move on.

I've become more aggressive once I get to the "touch" zone. I call the "touch" zone the stage when a girl is comfortable enough with you to not care if you touch and grab her. Last year, I would constantly test girls to see if i was in that zone yet. But, I never did anything with it besides think in my head "OMG, I've gotten so far with this girl". Now, I'm using it as an opportunity to essentially "assert dominance" in a sense. Like, this week, I grabbed this girls cheek like you do with a baby and she didn't even flinch. I even started talking to her like one and she smiled at it. I think being comfortable with touching what I want is a great step.

Positives:

I've gotten really good at cold approaching women, flirting, and getting IOI's.
I upgraded my blog, ordered copies of my book which I'm trying to get into local book stores, and was able to fast for 48 hours this week--that's the longest I've done so far.
I'm using porn less, not masturbating as much, etc., which I've noticed gives me an edge I didn't used to have.

Negatives:

So even though I've gotten good at talking with women and getting IOI's, I have a hard time number closing. In the moment I assume I'm going to see them again at some point (it's a smallish town), but then I immediately regret it after the interaction. Would love any tips you guys have on that.
Moved back in with my parents for the summer to help my dad with his business. Fucking blows. I mean, I get along with my parents, but how do you explain you're 37 and living w/ mommy? My frame is that I'm helping my dad with his business (which is true), but it probably needs work. I don't mind lying--ideas?

Just FYI new to TRP, but it totally makes fucking sense--I red The Game awhile back, then reread it--any other books I should check out?

Positives: Still on course with my weight loss. I'm at 13.1% body fat, and I need to get to 12%. The last 5 pounds are incredibly hard, so I've actually started working in some fasting to try and push through. It's hard with work though. Still running 3 miles a day. Every day.

Been practicing guitar steadily every day. Still tend to lose focus on a song and move on to something else before I finish the first song. But that's ok I suppose.

Fixed my resume, and will be applying for an internship I'd like to get on monday.

Negatives:

I think i've been texting this girl I'm interested in too much, so I just stopped. There was a 2 day span where I texted here a few times, and I think that was too much. I'm just going to stop and if she texts me I'll give a short response.

Still chatting up the ladies, but the anxiety affects my personality, and I still don't know how to overcome that. My plan is just to get in very good shape, that way I won't need to say much at all. If I can't beat the anxiety I'll just go around it.

Suicidal thoughts have still been coming across my mind at least 4-5 times a day. I'm on meds for it, and I do therapy, but nothing seems to be helping in that regard.

It has been over a year for me. Still think i'm in the anger phase. I think depression makes it harder to get out of that phase. Not gonna give up though.

Slowly becoming friends with people with whom I didn't have much precious contact.
Dressed up as a famous writer from my country, changing my skin tone and all that. This helped me lose a bit more of my general embarassment.

Cons Routine

Felt like I was lazier this week, leaving things to do at the last moment and being generally unorganized.
My weekly planning didn't work. I basically kept pushing obligations to another date until this week.
Broke my NoFap streak. Social
My discussion with a colleague of mine got even worse. We're basically on an attrition war at the moment.
As a consequence of this fighting, I've lost a bit of contact with a few friends that associate mostly with him. Learning
Even though I've been keeping on with my learning schedule, I didn't see any improvement this week. It might have just been a negative feedback loop, but it felt bad nonetheless.
Didn't learn absolutely anything about programming.

Challenges and goals

This week has been pretty shitty. Negative feedback loops took place, which didn't help my psychological state. Also, the daily attrition with this colleague of mine left me mentally exhausted pretty much every day of the week. I felt overall less happy this week, but I'm still trying to find the right balance between work and entertainment. As per my last challenge, I have been working on myself more when compared to the last week, but I've felt generally more exhausted at the end of it.

Nevertheless, my general challenge for this week is to find the right balance. I've been trying to delve into too much work at the same time, so it feels like my head is going to explode at any moment. Mostly my days consist of so much time being spent learning and hitting the gym that I feel like doing absolutely nothing after some ~4-5 hours of that. Even then, my day still feels short. Simply put, this week's challenge is to sort out my schedule.

Social 10/10

Saturday last week was dope with a party. Found my boundary with alcohol but didn't trash myself completely, was fun as hell though. Learned and worked on my game some. EPPPPIC. very, very happy about that night. Practiced my inner "douchebag" behavior so to say this week: Completely ignoring this one chick's messages, taking up way space on public and sitting with my legs resting in the seat in front of me on bus. My philosophy is: are you really nice if you're incapable of doing mean things due to the social repercussions on mean things? No! True kindness means the ability to do harm, but then CHOOSING to not do it. I practice my ability, but would usually not choose to actually harm or inconvenience other people.

Fitness :( 4/10

Had dope saturday and monday workouts, but I GOT FUCKING SICK ON TUESDAY -AND I'VE BEEN SICK SINCE THEN. FUUUCK.

Misc :/ 4/10

Sickness has ruined my week productivity wise. Luckily I have a lot of free time from school, but I have had to skip training and ate pretty trash the last few days. Sickness ruined my fucking motivation for pretty much everything. at least I made so progress in some theory studying. otherwise just been resting/recovering.

Positives.

Lifted at the gym 5 days this week, 2 days BJJ I'm getting quite good at it.

Read no more Mr Nice Guy, more of the intelligent investor.

Figured out my investment plan.

Looked for a job closer to home to free up some more time.

Negatives.

Had a bunch of girls eyefucking me and opened me at the wine bar down the street but I think I'm still in the anger phase I didn't even respond and just kept walking.

To much time on social media.

To much time watching shitty tv shows.
