Summary

Called off a Tinder meeting. I didn't even meet this girl, so don't expect anything profound - just a small learning moment.

Body

Pre-Logistics

Tinder. HB 7.5, 30 y/o (a little older than I usually date), working professional. We sent a few messages back and forth about music, and then I told her I'd like to meet up and she agreed.

Logistics

I suggested a time and place near me. She told me where she lived, which turned out to be somewhat far (we live in different neighborhoods of a major city), and asked if we could pick a different spot. I actually decided this was reasonable, especially since she lives closer to the center of the city.

I suggested spot #2, which was halfway between us and was convenient for public transportation. She asks if we can pick another place, and asks for a neighborhood which is slightly closer to her. She would legit save like 3 minutes. This was, of course, no longer reasonable. I imagine most RP guys would have the same reaction, but for some of the newer guys here, maybe not...

I was busy and didn't want to deal with the conversation at this point. About 12 hours later, I send "Hey, I don't think it's gonna work out, sorry. Good luck." She responds immediately with a mini-rant about how men should go to the women. I didn't read it all and ignored her, and that's that.

Conclusion

This isn't much of a story, but could be educational for newer guys.

  • The incorrect way to view this is that I missed an opportunity to meet an attractive girl. I know plenty of BP guys who would have viewed it this way.
  • Once you have the right mindframe, it's pretty easy to read the signs. In this case, I suspected that this girl was either incredibly unintelligent, or very entitled. Turns out it was the latter, and she is not someone I would like to date. The nice thing is that instead of wasting time and money on one or more dates to figure it out, I got a read on her quickly and moved on.
