I don't agree and here's why. There can be layers and layers of people who are on your side. At least on the side of the image you project. Most people don't even have a frame and therefore are easily influenced by a strong one. Establish a strong frame for you at first. And as your frame gets stronger and "bigger" it's going to expand beyond your own self. You are going to consume other frames and that's how you get people into you. These influenced, converted, consumed, trapped in your frame folks are going to defend your frame as its theirs.

That's how you get allies and move up the social hierarchy providing you with social proof and other obvious stuff. You must create your own brand to establish a cult of personality and this is why the narcissism part of DT is important. You can be ten million times "alpha" in your own mind, but the real power is always in other people - in control. When people believe in you they follow you - they don't even need logic or facts or even your real value for this as a belief might as well be totally irrational. Project and defend your frame and people will fall into it.

Pursue your dreams, open a business, do that stand up comedy. Become a competitive bodybuilder, and watch. Look at the people in your life and see for yourself how cruel everyone can become in trying to pull you down.

Your success reminds them of their own failures, your actions are assaulting their pysche. The warning bells are ringing so loudly that they have to lash out at you 'No you can't be that person' 'I refuse to accept this' to relieve themselves of the mental pain. The closer you get to it the worse it gets. That's why you MUST believe in yourself unrepentantly.

No one can tell you how to live your life or what direction you should take. Sometimes you can go your whole life figuring it out. I'm nearly 30 before figuring out what it is I wanted.

However you should adopt the habits of successful people regardless.

People with limited scope see things as frivolous. Uncertainty is such a powerful motivator that men and women become locked to their stations in life. "I can't do that! I have a job, I have bills to pay I have responsibilities!" parroting the same programming as your parents and everyone else with a chip on their shoulder. The Truth is those people never persued their dreams, and because they denied themselves they became bitter and jaded. People around you hate it when you pursue what you really want, they will beat you down, eviscerate you and go out of their way to tell you how stupid your aspirations are and the closer you get the worse it gets.

Do not toil through life wondering what if, it is the ultimate regret.

99% of people are not on your side. They either want to see you fail or they don't care enough to want you to succeed.

But there will definitely be people out there who want to see you succeed. That's what it means to have a proper friend. Finding those people can be extremely tough so treasure those people once you find them.

Peer groups are a mixed bag. You CAN have really good friends who will inspire you to greater accomplishments, who will hold you accountable when you're wasting time or making mistakes, and who will create meaningful opportunities for you to succeed. However, most peer groups are crabs in a bucket, relying on social pressure to keep you from growing and developing as a person.

Anecdotally, I have two major groups of friends. The first I made in Middle School, and the second I made in late High School / early college. The first group is full of High School stoner dropouts who mostly ended up doing semi-skilled labor to make a living. The second group includes entrepreneurs, highly-skilled technical workers, and well-educated professionals. The first group is always complaining about some new challenge, usually a financial one. The second group spends every waking moment trying to retire before 50. The first group sends me the occasional text to talk about how great the old times were, and how much they miss the pointless endeavors we used to waste time on. The second group speaks exclusively in present or future tense, talking about how great things are now, and their relentless optimism for the future. One of these groups is healthy and beneficial. The other is a cancer.

Last point on positive relationships: In my experience, I've found that the people who have been the most helpful and supportive to my personal improvement are those older than me, who have functioned as mentors. Almost every teacher or professor who taught me important things viewed me as an interested pupil. Many of my biggest career achievements happened under a manager who viewed me as a talented-but-raw little brother or son. Some of the best dates I ever went on were set up by older men who thought I would make a good son-in-law. In short, some of the best relationships you can form will be with elders, and not with peers. Take advantage of those types of relationships - they can be incredibly fruitful.

This is not true for everyone around you, redpill would be cutting out these people.
When I mentioned I wanted to start lifting around friends I get weekly messages from different friends about my progress or if I even was at the gym.
Some time ago a friend send an old photo of mine from 2 years ago and 35 kg more fat on my body to appreciate my progress over the years.
I have friends and family that would drive me to exams if it would made me less nervous.
If you not support your friends to "improve" them self, encourage for the better, critic for the worse if needed, they will not do the same.

I recently came to this realization about a blue pilled cuck I used to hang out with that masqueraded as a "friend". He's perfectly content with being a piece of shit while the mother of his children gets fucked by another guy and wants everyone else to be as worthless as he is. I think that though parts of this are true and there are many sore losers that don't like to see people doing better than them, many people will gravitate toward you once they see you making a name for yourself and will want to be a part of your success. Both of these can be dangerous, haters will try and drag your name through the dirt and bring you to their level and leeches will try to capitalize off of your movement and try to surpass you. You must see through both of these types of people and maintain frame and integrity to keep yourself up and resist stooping to their level. There is such a thing as true supporters though, they are the ones who not only support you but inspire you to keep progressing while they do the same. This is the kind of company you should be trying to surround yourself with

Friends are a different story, they got offended almost when I said I am going to go pursue my dreams. After I cut them, it a took a few months for them to stop talking about me.

I have been that road before, and what happened to me is that I didn't like people succeeding because it made me feel as shit. If you are accomplishing your goals whilst I am stuck I just felt let down by myself.

When I saw other's people success I was wondering: why is he achieving his goals? What am I doing with my life? why can I be like him? Why I don't have the guts to follow my dreams?

So, as you said, I always tended to drag people into their "status quo". Most people do this not because they are jealous but because they don't like changes.

Fortunately, I realized it was completely pointless to focus on other's people life and I immediately got down to get my shit together and started working on me.

Having a lifetime friend(s) that you can trust unconditionally is the most motivating and empowering thing you can experience. I have a rare luck of having these.
