With the passing of my grandfather 2 days ago, a sudden realization hit me. Once every old man eventually passes, there will be no more live examples of how the true traditional life was lived, and how a true traditional family was raised.

For me my grandfather was my only male rolemodel, my father being more a negative one. He was a serious and at times strict man, but also lovable and sarcastic any hour of the day, he married my grandmother young and stayed with her up until his last days, he got an apartment and renovated it by himself, with his own tools, he raised my mother and then helped her raise me. He never stopped working until the age of 75, this year was supposed to be his first year in retirement.. Economics aside liked having an occupation.

I never told him how much I admired him as a man, but I hope he always knew. Especially in the last 2 years once I got a better sense of life and work, he became the perfect example of getting the job done and leading a family.

Like every man he had his downsides too, but no matter how much he worked he never came home and complained. No matter how much my grandpa suspected him during the day, at night he always came back home to her.

I'm saying all this because you won't see this in the modern man. And it is up to us to get outside of the weakness bubble modernity has built for us in order to be as strong minded and productive as the old men once were. To successfully raise a family, get money and take care of the others around us.

It is up to us, and many need a strong reminder of this.
