Summary: In many situations whether it be with women, on the job or just on your own, sometimes just being quiet is the best practice.
Body:
Yesterday I was sick. My voice was completely gone and I literally couldn't speak except for a whisper. However, I still had to pick up my young kids for one of my weekly visitation times. When they realized that I couldn't talk not only did they get much quieter, but when my 3 year old had a small meltdown and started to cry, the simple fact that I couldn't engage her made it end that much sooner. Plus I only had to turn and give her a look and she stopped acting out promptly.
This got me thinking about other scenarios where it is always best to keep your mouth shut that we espouse here on TRP. For example, it is well held in the sales community that once you have made your sales pitch you simply shut up. The person who speaks first usually loses. I used this policy many times in my sales career and it always proved correct. The ability to sit there, sometimes for minutes and just be silent is incredibly difficult for most people and they will agree with things just to be able to stop the silence.
When we are in situations with women my mouth when I was blue pilled would always get me in trouble. Expressing too much, agreeing with things I didn't just to get her to like me, creating covert contracts all happened when most of the time if I had just stayed silent I would have been much better off. Think about the many times a woman has shit tested you, and you just stay stoic and don't say a word. Often they will actually talk themselves out of what they just said. If they are resisting something physical often just looking them dead in the eye without a word and then continuing is the best way to get their hamster to give up.
Women can have whole conversations - with themselves - and think you're actively participating or even better, worry about the fact you're not talking. It makes their hamster run. Meanwhile, you're thinking about what the score was in the football game. As we say here, limit communication - meaning be quieter than she is. It creates an element of mystery too.
In my fraternity in university we had to practice something for a week called implied silence. This meant that unless it was for work or school you weren't allowed to speak to anyone. Any time. No BS conversations, no phone calls, no internet chats, emails, texts, nothing. In fact you had to get rid of anything frivolous at all ie TV and games and social media and focus only on yourself. The first couple of days were incredibly hard, but then suddenly I remember realizing all the garbage conversations that I had every day about nothing. I encourage anyone who is reading this to try it, even for one day - likely you won't be able to.
It also reinforces Law 4 - always say less than necessary.
I learned something yesterday about being quiet more often and thought I'd share it with the community. Do yourself a favour and practice mindfully shutting the fuck up on some occasions. You will likely turn out in a better position.
TL;DR STFU more often.
