I know that we often view Alpha as a decision, an outlook, a way of being. But we also sometimes speak of the "natural Alpha," the man who hasn't made any decision. It's just who he is, maybe who he's always been.

Recently I've heard of some relatively young men who have pathologically low testosterone levels. We also know that the span of what is a "healthy" or "normal" testosterone level is quite wide.

Also, in reading this sub, I've come across men who honestly confess to being beta, and talk about some of the feelings that surround that. To me, these are similar to the feelings or outlook of a man with low testosterone.

We know that testosterone levels rise with each win, and with the enhanced testosterone level, the man is more likely to win his next contest. Wins breed more T, more T breeds more wins. And so on.

Thoughts on the connection between testosterone levels and Alpha / Beta status? It's an honest question. Perhaps it's more than an issue of character. Maybe it is also an issue of biology.
