Game is another tool in the box. Sometimes we seem to forget that on here. Just like the way you need to use a screwdriver on screws and a hammer on nails. Sure, you could use the hammer for both, but it's not sensible. It may even work, but that doesn't detract from the fact that a screwdriver is the better tool for that job. A wholistic approach to self-improvement is the key in my opinion. The advice on the sub gives you options for what tools you get and practice using. I'd rather have a toolbox that is filled so that I can approach more projects, as opposed to having a minimal toolbox that you can just about get by with.

PUA is purple pill in my opinion. At least they started out that way. They deserve credit for being an underground/alternative group, and predecessor to us. Feminists have shamed PUA's and retardedly labeled them "rapists" because feminists hate men and don't want men to succeed, which itself is of course pretty strong evidence that PUA does work (to some extent). Seeking truth and doing something that works, regardless of feminine approval, is pretty Red Pill. PUA's certainly got past the "just be yourself" tripe.

However, PUA started out as helping men learn how to get laid from within a BP framework. It didn't really talk about the man behind the curtain, so to speak. Rather, it was an instruction manual for plugged in guys, first on what to say to girls, and later, on what to think and feel while talking to them so that you act right. But it's just a bandaid.

Furthermore, the vast majority of it is complete bullshit marketed by frauds. Even some of the very biggest names you've heard of are 100% frauds.

TRP already incorporates the best parts of PUA: frame, overconfidence, amused mastery, lifting + cool clothes/grooming, having value, giving value, etc. But it doesn't just cover them. It shows how they fit into the bigger picture of evolutionary biology.

I personally would prefer a bigger focus on Red Pill game around these parts. I don't think game, within a RP framework, should be ignored. However, I don't really care for PUA game. In my mind, there's a very strong difference.

It's the effect of over a year of rampant growth, it's been rather lopsided in the discussions. Game is important, game has always been important to TRP. "Game" aka "PUA" is just a label put on the art of learning to communicate with a women's subconscious in it's native language. It's her subconscious that makes the decision to fuck you or not and it does it by sending positive attractive emotions (fuck him now) or negative unattractive emotions (creep get away). It sends those emotions based on how she perceives you, how she subjectively ranks you vs the other males she has access to, and if your in the top 20% of *her selection then you get can fuck her.

It's all about perception and manipulating perception is pure Machiavellian. Salesmen make some of the best PUAs because one of the requirements for their job is to lean how to read customers emotional state and subtly manipulate their emotions into making a decision that might not be in their best interests. That is all "game" is, no magic pill or bullshit "purpleblah blah my dick is bigger then theirs". It's knowledge and technique, two things that TRP values. We used to tell everyone to start lifting, start reading, start practicing. You life weights because the average new TRPer isn't physically fit, you read because the average TRPer has no fucking clue how to talk to women, and you practice because all that lifting and knowledge mean jack shit if you don't put them to use and refine your seduction skill set. And yes seduction is a skill that every RP man should know and practice.

I'm not a fan of PUA as far as the guys that religiously read about it and try to practice it. The information it carries can be very valuable though. Good game can only help you. I guess the point is that guys shouldn't just focus on gaming women. Especially if you get into something more serious like an LTR, or even spinning plates (which are more worthwhile than a ONS in my opinion). That's where TRP sexual strategy is more useful.

You're absolutely right. A little knowledge of female body language can make the difference between seeing an opportunity to approach and missing a woman's signals that she's into you. The game "cheat sheet" that someone posted a while back has helped me immensely (on mobile so can't link). IOI's, escalation, isolation, it's all helpful to know about. PUA's frame it in the wrong way but combined with TRP it's powerful.

Step one is be confident. Step two is know how to play. One without the other isn't nearly as effective (though as great as game is, confidence is still the more important of the two).

You're totally right. I think that this sub lacks "game" posts but the good news is that the blogs on the sidebar do post about it. Heartiste has tons of good posts about game, same with RM and ROK. I don't know why many people here instantly assume that game = PUA and are so eager to dismiss PUA's. I've recently started reading an early edition of the Mistery method and it says many RP truths.

As I understand RP, why is 'game' important in the first place? I get what you are saying, but I think you value game too much and this post is a bit on the negative side of things. Game is just experimenting the shit out of women. Whether you get laid or not, that's not the point. Fail and learn.

Love the sports analogy. Put LeBron James in any other professional sports league and he's a bit player until he refines his technique. You need both physical ability (SMV) and technique (game) to succeed, and a deficiency in one can be overcome by a surplus of the other. TRP is right to focus on SMV as it has more benefits (think general health) but both are important.

As for the PUA community, their biggest strength is that they emphasize practice. Going out and approaching women, seeing real-life shit tests, figuring out how to convey amused mastery, etc. are all necessary experiences -- there's no shortcut around them. Regardless of what you think about them, this is an example of how some of what they're doing is right. Learn from the good, throw out all the rest.

I'm neither for or against PUA. It has its pros and cons at an almost equal ratio. What I will say is that you can achieve a Mastery level of Game all naturally.

One thing I've noticed over quite some time is that the first step sometimes is to throw yourself into a woman's view and let her get used to you. Todd Valentine calls this 'projecting your personality'. Even if you're a complete putz, it's entirely possible that a girl will just accept you for you and let you into her life a little. Some people call this game. I call it persistence and habituation. Be present at least.

Assholes and the cocky types are maybe not always genuinely preferred to women, but they are at the very least approaching and making shit happen.

Excellent post. I see game/pickup as just another area of self improvement, which is absolutely essential. Area where you practice and improve your way of interacting with women.

Almost all of TRP will vouch for lifting and approaching more women, but would you go lift without proper studying, without proper technique? No. Same is the case with game and approaching women, game will show you the specific techniques , pitfalls etc of approaching women.

It seems to be mostly be direct with what you want, either she bites or it's onto the next.Rarely do I see any kind of compromise where you should do this or that differently to get the girl.

Winners don't need Game as much because women see them as the "Alpha Prize" that they are and use their own Game (Charm) to try to catch them.

When you are no prize, but have good Game you can go pretty far, but it's always better to be a real winner in everything than pretending.

Not that there aren't plenty of stupid women you can fool... PUA has it's place.

The top 5% of women are not likely going to fall victim to male Game, but the middle and lower levels would be easy prey.
