God damn the comment section is full of shit. I like how people think that his previous post was sexist/misogynistic for even implying that women should have to do anything other than exist to be attractive.

Matt Powers a poor writer. He fails to clearly express himself, and a few thoughts that he claims to have are confused, muddled, and mostly wrong.

Both posts are drivel. At least the first one shows a glimmer of real-world understanding. The second one was completely unreadable. I crashed out after the first paragraph.

The terms Alpha and Beta come from the study of animal mating habits, no serious research has ever attributed them to human behavior. Human mating psychology is far more subtle and nuanced and the terms have no real meaning - most humans display traits ranging from alpha to beta, and they waver over time. This isn't the case in the animal kingdom where one male will be alpha his entire life until he is deposed. Also, it is his position at the top that makes him Alpha, not his behavior or traits. Following correct usage of the term, therefore, a skinny, weedy nerdy little computer geek with a female mate who has successfully reproduced is Alpha by default, regardless of anything else. We really need to get away from the use of terms like this if we want to be taken seriously - to anyone with a scientific background who reads words like "alpha" and "beta" applied to human mating strategy, it just sounds like a load of bro-science psuedo bullshit.

Those are two different authors, the entire point of having different authors is to get different viewpoints. It's like saying a newspaper is contradicting itself when they run a conservative author's editorial one day and a liberal author's editorial the next day.
