This is a video called "How to Ask Out a Girl (using her own advice)" by Youtube user FreddyFairhair.

The idea of the video is that guy X goes and asks random girls how to ask a girl out, then guy Y tries said advice on that very girl.

The advice was along the lines of:

"Please tell me your boyfriend treats you right. You're gorgeous."

"Do you want to grab coffee?"

"You're really cute."

"We should hangout sometime. Can I get your number?"

"Don't I know you...?"

"Hey you caught my eye, I was wondering if we could go out sometime."

"Introduce yourself. Ask her what her major is. If she goes to school around here. If she lives around here. Maybe we can get some coffee some time." [This one's difficult because the tense keeps changing.] [After she realizes she's being filmed:] "Honestly if you guys want to pickup girls that's a great way to do it." [There might be something in this.]

So here's the interesting thing. This is almost all terrible fucking advice. Unless you're in the top tier of guys, eg. jacked and or rich. The best advice was the last girl, and even that was very rapport-seeking, such as asking "where do you live", "do you live around here".

Conclusions:

  1. These girls were imagining in their head a sexy and or rich guy asking them these questions.

  2. Despite that these were normal guys asking them, they still gave advice that would work for top tier guys. Thus, supporting evidence for the theory that the bottom 80% of guys are pretty much invisible.

  3. They did get girl's numbers occasionally. I put this down not to the advice, but to the hilarious nature of the trick.

These are my thoughts and theories anyway, interested to hear your's.

EDIT: This is not an analysis of how you can get girl's numbers. It is an analysis of the advice actual advice they gave.
