I use them only for sex. Here's how:

Get a good photo of yourself (helps if you are in shape and decent looking).
Write a ridiculous over the top profile that hits every negative cliche out there that women fear about men online (e.g., lives with parents, alcoholic, overweight, no job, etc.).
Push #2 HARD!! Just keep going and make it FUNNY!!
Wait for women to message you. Most will be DTF because they can read between the lines: fun guy, not too serious, probably good date/good lay.
After two messages, send phone number and set up date for drinks.

Almost NO work and certainly NO expectations.

I've banged many women over the last two years this way as a method of supplementing my other methods of gaming.

All that said, if you are looking for a quality women for a relationship online, good luck. That shit is Blue Pill Chump Bait at its finest.

Indeed. This French dating site is considering itself as a "supermarket for women", literally. Women subscribe and choose the guys they like. Even more degrading to see that the website's name translates into: "adopt a dude" and the logo represents a woman putting a man in her shopping cart.

It's incredibly pathetic and even more when you realise they'd be an uproar if men decided to do something of that sort (from the same men who "sell" themselves on this site!)

Online dating is a numbers game and if you play it like one you'll "win."

Think of it this way:

If you contact 100 women you'll get maybe 50 responses. Of those 50 responses you might be interested in maybe 25 of the women after their initial response. Of those 25 women you'll maybe get 10-15 responses after your 2nd message. Of those 10-15 maybe you'll set up at date with 3-5 of them.

I'm average looking at best and I used to use online dating a lot with great success. Here's what worked for me:

Play it like a numbers game. The more people you contact the better.
Create a "stock" initial response that you can easily personalize. You should always start the message talking about the woman - mention something from their profile. Then talk about yourself. Essentially sell yourself. This is the part of the message that can easily be cut/pasted over and over again. You can get to the point where it takes 5 minutes or less to email someone.
Longer messages are better. It makes women think that you're interested in them and it makes you stand out since they are most likely getting one or two sentence messages from other guys. Again, copy/paste as much as you can.
Try to limit your communication online to 2-3 messages. Then move to text/phone call.
Don't spend a ton of time talking. Remember that your goal here is to actually meet in real life so you should be working towards that goal quickly. Like I said, 2-3 messages, then some texts or a phone call and then you ask her out. Don't waste time with women who want to draw out the communication phase before meeting.

My dating cycle would start on a Sunday/Monday. I'd send out a bunch of emails and wait for replies. My goal was always to get dates lined up for Friday and Saturday night. I'd use Mon-Wed/Thursday to communicate with women and set up Friday & Saturday. I had no trouble "double booking" because if someone better came along I had no trouble canceling on someone else. After all, you're really not invested at all in these women when you're just communicating before your date.

You wouldn't believe the number of times I'd just randomly hook up using this method. On the off chance that I actually met someone I was interested in for more than sex I'd always fit them into my dating schedule.

This method takes a bit of time but the more time you put into it the better your results. I'd normally spend 1-2 hours a night but that would almost guarantee that I'd have dates every Friday and Saturday night.

The real problem is that a normal person doesn't become attracted to another person based on a profile. They can see that you might be attractive, but they have to meet you to become attracted.

To understand what I mean, consider mick jagger. Even if you didn't know he was famous, if you met him in person, you would find him to be attractive (I mean, a woman would) because of the way he carries himself and so on. Classic alpha. Exudes sexuality. A lot of that is because of his life experiences. If he was a cab driver he wouldn't have the same personality. Nonetheless, put that guy in a room with an average women, and even if she doesn't know he's famous, she'll be turned on.

Now imagine his dating profile. He wouldn't get any replies at all (again, from people who don't know he's famous). He's physically ugly, and no words on a page would make up for that.

I think the main problem with online dating is that it only works well for people who are extremely attractive. You can't really compensate for lackluster looks when a girl's interaction with you is via static images and text, as opposed to a live setting. Online dating, at least at first contact, eliminates game (some might be involved in writing the profile, but it won't matter much if the girl doesn't get past the picture).

I've had some decent success with online dating. Yes, the girls are far pickier, and it's obvious that they're shopping around (becomes evident when they go from really interested to dropping you cold turkey 'cause they got a better deal). However, I am above-average in looks, so I get a decent number of girls who move on to my profile. Unfortunately, I'm not way above average, so I can still get boxed out by the model-looking dudes.

The upside is that if you're a good looking guy, you can do the same kind of window shopping the girls do. Yes, you will still have a lower success rate than they do, but it's easy and takes almost no effort.

Fun petty anecdote: After my last serious girlfriend and I broke up, we both made OKC profiles. After a day or two, I got an email saying I had been rated as "very attractive" (or something like that) by OKC users. My ex received no such missive. She also complained a lot that she very rarely, if ever, got any messages from guys, even if she initiated contact. It did wonders for my (at the time shattered) confidence. Also, if you're wondering why I knew about this, we still lived together along with a third person (her best friend), and none of us could afford to move out (least of all me).

I was on OKCupid for a bit back in my beta days.

One of the funniest things that was almost universally on all women's profiles in the 'message me if...' section was "...if you have something interesting to say".

How about you message me if you have something interesting to say. Oh wait, you don't. Shoes and shopping don't count.

I agree that they are a cesspool of the human condition, but it put things into perspective once i figured things out; Oddly enough it got me out of the blue, gave me a bit more confidence moving forward.

I think that dating sites can be a good spring board for some since they highlight a lot of what is discussed with TRP

I'm 6'4, average build 28 years old. Dark features, I carry myself with a lot of confidence in person. I've been doing online dating thing for about 5 years, I've hooked up with women from 18-45 about 30 women, that's just sex. I did have a girlfriend for 3 of these years. I've hooked up with 6-9's, 10 don't exist on these sites. Two ways to go about it, yes being tall and having a full head of hair helps. Be confident in all your messages, these girls will shut down any desperate guy even if they are attracted to you. I've always kind of had the red pill mentality, just didn't know till a friend showed me this a few weeks ago. Now I've taken on a super alpha mentality on these sites. Give the confidence that you're a Don Draper/Christian Grey mix, and keep up with that attitude, women eat it up. I've always have a rotation of 10-15 girls I'm talking with, I don't meet them all. But when I need sex or someone to make out with and don't feel the need to troll the bars and whatnot, I have girls to be over in a few hours.

any average to slightly above average looking girl doesn't need online dating unless she is in a weird predicament personally or had kids and is < 30 years old.

It's no different in online dating. You can be one of those people who complains about how easy women have it, or you can use your superior understanding of what they're looking for create a profile that has them longing to be in your life. The fact is that women on dating sites are meeting up with men, fucking them, and often chasing them.

An experiment everyone should try:

set up a fake female profile on a dating site. When you choose the pics, choose a girl who is average or perhaps just a little cute. In the description, give her the most generic traits possible ("I love HANGING WITH THE GIRLS, etc.). Leave the profile up for say 2 days and see how many random message you get.

I did this and I was getting on average 4-5 messages a day on my fake profile. It was one of things that made me really realize that the average girl gets WAY more attention then even an above average guy.

i just shared this with my girlfriend and this is her rebuttal:

nothing has changed from meatside. if youre not attracted to that person she wont be interested anyhow. you can have a killer personality but you look like quasimoto youre nexted.
she never received "100 messages" a day. she got a lot but nothing of any substance and lots were just plain rude. take note.
see point #1. stop being bitter and ugly. the same guy will rate different attractiveness levels to different women. (personally, i think it has at least a little bit to do with who her most prominent father figure was growing up)
she was never vague on her profile. if a woman is genuinely interested in finding someone she will put effort into her profile.
she never responded to the "hey" messages. if someone was going to actually read her profile and take the time to ask her something about it (like her travels) then she would respond to those, unless she didnt find them attractive because it would be wasting their time.
again, see #1. if a woman is going online to seek validation, its pretty sad.

these are her answers. my rebuttal to this whole post is get better dating site game. make yourself interesting and develop charisma. post pics where you are doing cool shit (skydive, scuba, be sporty). make yourself attractive (dress well, no shirtless mirror shots, have muscle tone). take the time to develop a well worded profile (grammar, punctuation, concise statements).
