I'm pushing 42 and never been married, never wanted to be. I'm in three MLTRs and have been for the past 3 years. They're fun chicks, but not one of them would I ever marry for any reason. Earlier this year I dated (in addition to the three) two girls in their early 30s. They were fun too, but marriage never even crossed my mind.

The problem I have with TRP is that it basically says "Marriage would be fine for men BUT currently it's bad because [the courts, divorce, feminism, the government, etc]."

However, I personally don't think marriage is good for men even in an ideal male world. Why? Because it demands partnering and monogamy. And I don't want these things with anyone for any reason, ever. I can't think of any reason any man would ever want to get married. Not even to the hottest, richest girl on the planet. I just don't understand it at a gut level.

So my question is, to those men who have wanted to be or have been married.... WHY? Why??? Why in the world would you want to bang one chick for the rest of your life, even in theory? Why would you want to partner with anyone, for any reason?

I don't understand. Even if marriage were absolutely ideal for men. If the courts, the government, the culture, and women were all on your side. Why would you want to do it (or why did you actually do it)? Please explain it so that I can understand.
