This post seems very much like a Post Modernist NAWALT.

[–]TRP Vanguardscottishredpill 7 points8 points9 points 13 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

Like n0c0ntr0l, I am also struggling to see the point of your post. I am glad you have meet someone that makes you happy. Good luck :)

In reply to your question here: http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/1irjb2/why_i_think_red_pill_does_relationships_a/cb7c7fk I have had many healthy relationships with women using TRP philosophies

[–]redfishesbluefishes[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (9 children) | Copy Link

I'm glad to hear it's working for you. And believe me, I am in favor of everything that makes men (AND women) realize that confidence and being an awesome person (fit, goal-driven, intelligent, happy) are the ways to go to attract an awesome partner. I just don't buy into putting women down as a way to be awesome. I think a really awesome man (who's straight, of course) will want a truly awesome woman at his side.

[–]TRP Vanguardscottishredpill 8 points9 points10 points 13 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

TRP is not about putting women down, someone else will probably do a better job of explaining that than me.

For me, women do relationships a disservice. I have been with more married women and women in long term relationships than I care to remember.

[–]redfishesbluefishes[S] -3 points-2 points-1 points 13 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

In those instances, those women shouldn't have made monogamous commitments. I truly believe people shouldn't make commitments they can't keep.

EDIT: However, most stats I read say that men cheat around the same levels or higher (not that I trust stats a lot, they can always be manipulated). Wouldn't you agree damage is done to relationships by cheating, not by a specific gender?

[–]TRP Vanguardscottishredpill 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

Indeed, I agree.

However, TRP explains why I can do this. The reasons women have settled for someone that is not fulfilling enough to stop them getting some strange.

TRP does not do relationships a disservice, it explains why women do relationships a disservice.

[–]redfishesbluefishes[S] -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

What about men who cheat on their wife? Why has he settled for someone who is not fulfilling enough for him? Why wouldn't that be as bad as a woman doing it?

[–]TRP Vanguardscottishredpill 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I don't care, I'm not trying to sleep with men

[–]redfishesbluefishes[S] -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

If you're not even willing to admit that those are equally bad behaviors, then that's exactly the type of men vs. women, women-blaming things I read here so much, and which are NOT helpful toward solving the problems men and women face when trying to form and have good relationships.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

If you're not even willing to admit that those are equally bad behaviors

That's not what he said. He said that the strategy and decisions of other men in our society don't factor into his own approach. Applying value judgments to people's decisions in dating/relationships is not helpful. Rather, the point is to find a way to have a satisfying relationship for yourself (which normally necessitates making both people in the relationship feel satisfied).

NOT helpful toward solving the problems men and women face when trying to form and have good relationships

In a societal sense, of course not. Individuals in our modern society have little if any influence on societal norms. But understanding what creates attraction in a relationship does help form good relationships.

[–]TRP Vanguardscottishredpill 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I never said that men don't cheat, of course they do.

I merely stated that their reasons is of no interest to me as I am interested in sleeping with women.

NOT helpful toward solving the problems men and women face when trying to form and have good relationships.

Personally, I am not out to change the world. Forming and having good relationships are other peoples problems, not mine currently.

Eventually, I want to settle down, and I have a far clearer idea of how to create a strong lasting relationship due TRP

[–]1favours_of_the_moon 7 points8 points9 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

We're not here to please you.

Every woman on the planet will say I'M NOT LIKE THAT. Because she doesn't WANT to consider herself like that.

If you're happy, good for you.

[–]redfishesbluefishes[S] -4 points-3 points-2 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

At the end of the day, if you guys are happy too, and your partners, then I have no issue with it either and say good for you too.

It's true my story is anecdotal, and I'd welcome anecdotal stories from you guys about how you have found a healthy, happy, fulfilling relationship out of your philosophy.

[–]5 Endorsed ContributorStayinghereforreal 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Athol Kay's Married Man's Sex life blog is about helping people achieve just that. Not really my thing, but I think many find it helpful.

[–]n0c0ntr0l 16 points17 points18 points 13 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

This whole post of yours is entirely anecdotal and thus frankly I don't really see what your point is. Great your relationship works for you, whatever, but for most guys they want something completely different. You are not the norm, and don't try and paint yourself as such.

Have you considered that some of us do not want our girls going out and banging other random guys (and it's not a matter of insecurity, we just don't)?

[+]redfishesbluefishes[S] -8 points-7 points-6 points 13 years ago (10 children) | Copy Link

I don't think open relationships are for everyone (or even most). I think monogamy is great if that's what the two people want. But monogamous or not, I don't think the kind of rhetoric I read in this subreddit is productive. There's a lot of woman-bashing and putting women down, and a lot of talk about how love isn't real, and how women just use their looks to get a guy to take care of them.

If those are the kinds of women you're hanging around, you should concentrate on finding some different women.

[–]capitan_caverna 6 points7 points8 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

ok. you came, wrote your peace and I read it.

so what? who gives two fucks about what you think but yourself and your closed friends?

No one here is here to hear some chick, no matter how well put together she think she is, talk.

we come here to talk to guys, about guys, how to be better at being guys. NO ONE, just to be clear, cares about what you considered to be a successful story. it doesn't look good to me, and it's nothing like a relationship I would like to be part of. this bullshit idea there everyone here wants a servant is hilarious at best. we all, who were born within the last 35, 40 years, started relationships with the idea of equality imprint deeply within us. what changed most here was the unsuccessful experiences.

and most important, we are men. you are a woman. we don't see things the same way. our brains don't process thought the same way. what may look to you as a successful relationship, may not even be a relationship in the eyes of your mate. specially, when he depends financially on you.

only time will tell. but if I had to make a bet, I would bet that as soon as he gets he shit together, he will look for a wife to start his family, and I wouldn't bet his choice would be you. but that's just me.

cheers!

[–]n0c0ntr0l 7 points8 points9 points 13 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

You're missing the point, this is about what women are attracted to vs what they say they are attracted to.

Look at your own boyfriend, ambition, looks (he's a climber I'm sure he's got a very good body) etc. Your attraction to him isn't something you conciously decided, it was subconcious first and then you rationalised it after.

We here simply seek to talk about what the best strategies are for getting women and keeping them vs what people CLAIM works.

On top of that your whole post comes from a place of emotion, I don't give a shit about that, I couldn't care less if it feels wrong, I just want what works, fuck the morality.

[+]redfishesbluefishes[S] -7 points-6 points-5 points 13 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link

There's a lot more than that in this subreddit though. At the top of the subreddit 'the intelligence of a woman is inversely proportional to her looks' is linked prominently. That's got nothing to do with a best strategy for getting and keeping a woman! And it IS representative of a good amount of stuff in this forum.

I think what gets to me is that a lot of what I read on this subreddit implies there is no such thing as a healthy, happy, fulfilling relationship, and so it's all about trying to bang hot women and protecting yourself by never letting a woman get too close. Which is fine if that's what you want! but people can't behave like that and then point to their own behavior and their own choice in women they could never see as equals as PROOF that healthy, happy, fulfilling relationships can't exist.

[–]n0c0ntr0l 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

We never said there is no such thing as a healthy relationship. This subreddit says that such a thing is very difficult to create, especially with women, who these days, have been told they can have it all. That they can sleep around and follow their urges on a whim and then settle down later.

As for letting a woman in, its well known that showing weakness is unattractive and so why would we be advising letting them in.

We aren't totally against relationships, I mean we even have married members here, what we are saying though is that you have to vett your partners extremely carefully in a world where nowdays if she loses interest in you she can walk off and take your cash and children.

As for this whole thing about equals I find it silly. We aren't looking for equals, we are looking for complimentary.

[–]redfishesbluefishes[S] -3 points-2 points-1 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Why can't women sleep around and follow their urges and then settle down later, as long as while sleeping around and following their whims they don't get pregnant or get any diseases?

[–]n0c0ntr0l 5 points6 points7 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Because it decreases their ability to pair bond in general.

On top of this for years they have been hooking up with the guys that have created large amounts of attraction in them.

Then they hit 28-30 and they go "oh shit, biological clock is ticking, need to pump out some kids" and then they THEN start looking towards the guys they have been ignoring now giving them attention in exchange for resources. Mind you they were giving these hot guys before all that attention in exchange for nothing.

And then after they pump out the kids they then realise they aren't so interested in these guys they have settled for, many of them divorcing them, taking the kids and the guys hard earned cash in order to go and look for new high quality males.

[–]redfishesbluefishes[S] -3 points-2 points-1 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

If you research that 'pair-bonding' conception, most of the info you'll find is on right-wing, conservative "don't have sex before marriage" sites, which you have to admit are not going to be objective. This is a good article about the other side of the topic.

From all I've read, that 'pair-bonding' thing is junk science.

[–]n0c0ntr0l 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

And yet time and again the statistics always point to showing that the more men a woman sleeps with before marriage the more likely she is to divorce. And this isn't some article, these are science papers, some with up to 4000 participants.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

At the top of the subreddit 'the intelligence of a woman is inversely proportional to her looks' is linked prominently.

It's a recent post by a mod. That's not the focus of the sub, nor does everyone agree with it. Fortunately, I have met plenty of attractive and intelligent women.

[–]SystemHalifax 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I could cite hundreds of examples of men getting put down

[–]W-Z-R 9 points10 points11 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

we simply weren't compatible enough for the long run.

My bullshit sensors sort of started tingling when I read this.

Then I thought maybe I was wrong when I read about the amazing guy, then I read this:

we're in an open relationship.

and I just stopped reading.

Enjoy your life OP

[–]redfishesbluefishes[S] -5 points-4 points-3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Thanks! I do. : )

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

But I feel sorry for people who buy into the kind of man vs woman ideas you propagate. I don't see how a healthy, happy relationship between equals could ever come of that kind of thinking. And if you don't want a relationship between equals, then we clearly want different things. But I think it says something about you if you are so unconfident that you specifically want someone weaker/dumber/less than you, or if you view your partner or potential partners that way.

"Equals" in your argument is not defined.

TRP is about accepting that men and women are different in important ways, and that the man who does not recognize this is dating at a disadvantage. Most of us want women who are what we aren't - soft, sweet, nurturing, and often submissive. That does not mean they are "weaker/dumber/less than", just different.

It is your insecurity that leads you to believe that this sort of relationship must be unhealthy and the result of an "unconfident" person seeking some sort of validation. Not all of use are turned on by nerdy bisexuals that would permit an open relationship or women jockeying to be held as equal in all respects (whatever that means). Personally, I was married to an aggressive, assertive, independent woman for 10 years and found it exhausting.

But please, continue to shame away while displaying your ignorance.

[–]redfishesbluefishes[S] -4 points-3 points-2 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There are certainly differences between the genders, although individuals vary widely, and men AND women on the outside ends of the spectrum who don't conform to gender norms shouldn't be shamed or abused for it.

If being in a relationship where there's a male breadwinner/provider role and a female nurturer/homemaker role is what makes both people happy, I don't find that threatening or unpleasant. My parents have a very good relationship that I would say fits that dynamic. Anyone who wants it should find someone who wants the same thing and go for it! There's enough room for all of us, as long as we're respectful about each other's choices.

[–]themoor4 points 13 years ago [recovered] (1 child) | Copy Link

Standard textbook solipsism.

How many times does she use "I" in her missive?

And then she takes her experience as a generalizable set of truisms to apply across the board.

[–]5 Endorsed ContributorStayinghereforreal 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yeah, many paragraphs of NAWALT, followed by standard shaming at the end.

Good for her she is happy with life, so the cold universe is slightly warmer as a result, but the rest is pretty standard contemporary hipster Special Snowflake strawman argument that has been addressed many times in the past.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points13 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ah, a bisexual/queer/transsomething/formerly sexually abused/feminist woman telling us what we're doing wrong.

[–]anra 4 points5 points6 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Three years ago, I met the man who's my match. He's intelligent, extremely hot, fit, goal-oriented, and adventurous. Our first date was rappelling down a cliff and making out at the bottom.

please disregard how well TRP describes me.

But I am those things as well; I don't expect or want him to provide for me; I don't want his money; I'm not trying to trap him; and he doesn't act 'alpha' or 'beta', he just lives his life and I live mine, and they happen to match up nicely. We don't struggle for dominance or feel any need to worry about who's dominant, because in the end we're each in charge of only our own life, and the other is there to support that.

[–]anra 5 points6 points7 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

he doesn't act 'alpha' or 'beta', he just lives his life

i don't think you understand how we use these words.

[–]AlwaysLateToThreads 3 points4 points5 points 13 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

You're in the wrong place. This sub seems to unofficially support short term dating strategies. Guys goals here aren't necessarily to support the best dynamic for healthy long term relationships, although we do have quite a few here.

/r/redpillwomen on the other hand seems to unofficially support long term dating strategies. There's many men there too. Go voice your concerns over at /r/redpillwomen where men and women gather with goals similar to yours.

I think you misunderstand trp. The redpill in and of itself is knowledge. Knowledge isn't evil. Some men use this knowledge to bang 1000 chicks, other men use it to have a fulfilling and happy marriage. Not every redpiller is the same, were different and have different goals.

[–]redfishesbluefishes[S] 0 points1 point2 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I think you may be on point with that. I think perhaps the tone of bitterness and disrespect and dislike toward women in so many of the posts is what made me wonder how healthy relationships were to come of that.

Of course, not everyone is looking for relationships.

In any case, thanks so much for replying.

[–]AlwaysLateToThreads -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You're very welcome. If you stick around here long enough you'll see that not everyone here is a "puerarch." It's a new term being used to describe guys who are in it for themselves. Puerarchs don't hide this at all. See www.puerarchy.com for more info.

On the other hand there's guys that are happily married that give redpill marriage advice. Google the mindful attraction plan or married man sex life for more info.

If you get involved in the community here you'll see who falls into which camp. The mods here are puerarchs, with Nuts76 maybe being the only exception.

[–]redfishesbluefishes[S] -1 points0 points1 point 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Thanks again!

The only thing I think I have to add here, is that it would seem to me if men who've chosen to be puerarchs liked it so much, they'd be happier about it. But there's so much anger and bitterness! The impression I get is that they feel/believe that a good relationship isn't possible or likely, so they're taking casual sex as the best option for them in a reality they dislike. While at the same time looking down on women who sleep around... often the same women who sleep with them.

[–]AlwaysLateToThreads 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Hm...perhaps I should have also add that a large amount of men here are ex beta males. Guys who spent a large amount of time, energy, and resources into women for years only to get nowhere. When guys finally accept what women are actually attracted many are initially very bitter and spiteful because they feel as if they've been lied to their entire lives about how to treat women. It is just a phase, I went through this phase too. It's the first part of being "unplugged."

There's other redpill communities than this one. This community is the fastest growing redpill community. As a result many males unplug here. So it follows, that many men vent here.

It takes quite a bit of introspection to get past this phase. And this is probably why this sub is repulsive to women and not to many men. They have lack of knowledge of men's struggles and issues and immediately scream trp is misogyny.

But these women have never been in the same place as these men. They haven't spent hundreds of dollars and time energy and effort on four potential mates in a row only for every single one to choose other guys. I on the other hand have.

Thus I am able to understand the place where many of the guys are coming from and it doesn't bother me at all.

"However, I don't think your 'red pill' philosophy is adding much toward finding a solution to the problem"

That's because it isn't.

It is recognition of the world, not a solution to it. Everyone must navigate their own path for themselves, but recognition of the real honest motivations and expectations are important. It's not how do we solve the problem, it's hey look, there is a problem and if you do this you can be successful despite it.

[–]mescalineeyes 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

The problem is not that TRP is doing relationships a disservice, the problem is that most men do not lead a relationship in a very TRP way and end up getting disappointed over and over again.

I also think that if your boyfriend was as amazing as you claim, you'd be heartbroken over him fucking other women. And if you were as amazing as you claim you are, so would he be.

Look, I'm real happy for you if you think this is working out, but don't bring this nonsense into here. There's nothing worthwhile to your post, there is nothing insightful included in it and we have nothing to go on to draw any sort of conclusion from it.

[–]redfishesbluefishes[S] -3 points-2 points-1 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Not everyone is possessive. We happen not to be.

[–]mescalineeyes 1 point2 points3 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No, but you do need to fuck other men on the side to be happy.

So either, you're an irredeemable slut, or you don't love him as much as you pretend you do. Or you're just really fucking weird/different, idk, I got nothing. Good for you. melts down

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

TRP makes you see relationships for what they are - an exchange of services. One person pays the dough because they value sex, the other gives out sex because they value the dough.

"But I think it says something about you if you are so unconfident that you specifically want someone weaker/dumber/less than you"

Women are hypergamous. Would you like me to take this further?

[–]redfishesbluefishes[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

This is exactly where I think the mistake is. Many men seem to see relationships as this exchange of sex for money, but they also seem to resent it at the same time.

I absolutely do not see relationships this way. It's a partnership. We share sex, and we share our money (there are times when my boyfriend has made more money, although currently I do)—one of us isn't buying the other. We pool everything we bring to the table, and because we both bring a lot to the table, we both get a lot out of it.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Textbook solipsism. You don't see relationships this way so they must not be that way lol

[–]redfishesbluefishes[S] -2 points-1 points0 points 13 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

My point is relationships don't NEED to be that way, and I think seeking out unfulfilling connections when there's so much more available is sad, that's all.

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 13 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I don't think your 'red pill' philosophy is adding much toward finding a solution to the problem

A "solution to the problem"? Are you honestly expecting to find a roadmap to changing all of modern society on reddit? Should there be just 3 or 4 easy steps?

I have always paid for my half... I have never wanted a man or woman to support me...

I put in the effort to be as attractive as I could be, as successful, as interesting, and as multi-faceted and well-rounded as possible.

I figured the better a person I could become, the more likely I'd attract the kind of person I wanted to be with...

I was able to easily reject so much of the crap like 'guy should pay for dates', 'guy should buy the girl flowers', etc. It's a two-way street or the street is broken, in my opinion.

That sounds like the advice we give here.

Three years ago, I met the man who's my match. He's intelligent, extremely hot, fit, goal-oriented, and adventurous.

Congrats! Well, if this anecdote is different from what you would normally find here, you would have him locked up in a successful monogamous relationship rather than letting him sleep with...

... we're in an open relationship

Or not. So far I fail to see how this anecdote invalidates anything.

It's never caused problems, because we know we love each other, and at the end of the day, we know we'll be together.

How do you know that?

But I feel sorry for people who buy into the kind of man vs woman ideas you propagate.

I bet the guy in the open relationship with a woman who doesn't force him to pay for everything and puts an effort into her appearance doesn't feel sorry. Ultimately, your own anecdote kind of invalidates your "I don't see how a healthy, happy relationship between equals could ever come of that kind of thinking" statement.

ideas you propagate

that kind of thinking

You conveniently never explicitly define your impression of the ideas being propagated.

if you are so unconfident that you specifically want someone weaker/dumber/less than you

Where does it specifically say that?

I think it could come down to 3 or 4 easy steps, yes. (These would apply regardless of gender). A) Become an awesome person, inside and out. Build a life that makes you happy. Know you have value. B) Only spend your time on other awesome people who add to your happiness and quality of life, and where respect and appreciation is a two-way street. C) Walk away from drama, headgames, and bullshit.

That would be a good start.

As to my impression of the ideas being propagated: -that women, specifically, aren't trustworthy, -that women are out to screw men literally and figuratively, -that men are constantly being take advantage of by women so they have to get a head start on that and take advantage of the women first, -that hot women aren't smart, and vice versa, -that smart women aren't desirable, -that independent women who support themselves aren't desirable, -that women who want men to pay or support them are trading their sex for men's money and this is just a fact that has to be accepted, even though men find it kind of distasteful, -that women cheating or sleeping around is worse than men doing the exact same thing...

I have read multiple threads where men say they are only dating dumb 18-22 year olds (and only for a short time, then on to the next) with hot bodies because smart, independent women with goals are... who knows... evil? scary? a threat? too manly? not feminine enough? How else should I interpret that plan?

I think we've established that beautiful people are more intelligent than ugly ones, thus making the hot 18-22 YOs intellectual top-performers. That post that's stickied on the top merely argues that they don't need to use their intellects since they get by on looks.

And as far as strong independent women with goals are like... http://www.reddit.com/r/TheRedPill/comments/1infd4/a_career_is_like_a_dick/

You are an outlier female in terms of your personality and goals. Most females DO NOT feel or act like you do, nor do they want and enjoy the things you say you want and enjoy.

Your problem is your solipsism.

I didn't make it past "To give you context, I'm a 27-year-old bisexual woman"

Considering that most women that call themselves bisexual are full of shit, I am sure your entire post is full of shit.

You're very classy.

Thanks. You should see me when I actually care, I'm quite irresistible.

You've successfully contributed nothing to this subreddit except a pointless story. Great job.

Run of the mill female solipsism:

"Your entire philosophy is wrong because [insert personal anecdote], and [insert hamstering], and it makes me feel [insert emotions]. Also, [insert shaming tactics] and [insert straw man]".

Your post is fully 3/4 about you, and that's being generous. You. Not TRP and whatever you have against it. Can you wrap your mind around how self-centered you are?

If this woman fucks like she whines, her boyfriend is in for a real treat.

In addition, we're in an open relationship

A successful relationship isn't a open one.

I bet your man has a great personality, looks blah blah blah but if you can't handle not fucking other people then you prove that "equality" in relationships is the wrong way to go.

Of course maybe your man enjoys you being fucked by other people, but a well-adjusted, self-respecting man would never allow their girlfriend to fuck other people.

I bet you couldn't even handle having a normal relationship with this guy, you really can't just fuck him? Maybe it's because he isn't alpha enough that you have to fuck other people.

I don't see how a healthy, happy relationship between equals could ever come of that kind of thinking.

Healthy. Yes. Happy. Yes. Equal. No.

The relationship doesn't have to be equal to be happy.

I don't agree with you. Some men don't want their girlfriends to be able to sleep with other people—and that's fine; some are okay with it—and that's fine too.

It's not for everyone.

Yes, if it were a requirement/something he absolutely needed, because it's not something I can provide, and I will always be honest about that.

He was in monogamous relationships previous to me, but they never lasted very long in part because he would feel trapped and start feeling more intense attractions to other women (probably because he knew he couldn't act on those feelings). I told him right away I was only into open relationships. I wasn't sleeping with anyone else when we first were discussing it, but I mentioned early on that a closed relationship wasn't going to be a possibility. As we got more serious, we discussed it in more depth and figured out we were both very much on the same page about what we wanted.

Thanks for taking the time to write out a thoughtful reply.

Having been on OKCupid and seen my boyfriend on OKCupid, I can fully understand the frustration of women getting overloaded with messages while men fight to get a reply. Believe me, I truly hate it. Not as much as you do I'm sure, but I really do. I think that's one reason I've been successful in dating the people I wanted to date—I wasn't afraid to make a move or show my interest, which they found appealing because so often guys have to make literally all the moves.

I would like to mention I don't have an inability to commit. I fully intend to spend the rest of my life with this man, and he feels the same way about me. It just doesn't bother me if we date other people or sleep with other people. I know I am in the minority in this. That's fine; I don't expect other people to do the same thing nor do I advocate they should.

I wish I had an easy solution for you. I do think the way that men and women treat each other (both directions) is very unfortunate in the majority of situations I see and hear about. I just don't think negative rhetoric like 'smart women are never hot', 'only date 18-22 year olds because they're dumb and don't know how to manipulate you', 'women are out to get your alimony/house and sleep with your best friend' are productive or helpful. I think it's a huge shame when any man or any woman treats each other badly.

But I think it says something about you if you are so unconfident that you specifically want someone weaker/dumber/less than you, or if you view your partner or potential partners that way.

I think it says so much more about you that you spent 6 paragraphs on your own background to somehow prove that NAWALT.

identifies as feminist and pro-equal rights across the board

Hahaha. Not compatible. Stop kidding yourself.

I'm a 27-year-old bisexual woman

I met the man who's my match

We both have the complete freedom to date or sleep with other people as we like

When they [previous relationships] ended, they ended on good terms, because we simply weren't compatible enough for the long run

Or he's just using you for a regular lay. And now financial support. I love this guy.

Well, considering I'm the one who wanted to be in the open relationship... and had only been in open relationships before while he'd been in monogamous ones (though felt they were lacking)...

But yeah, I love him too! : )
