"The saddest thing in life is wasted talent" - A Bronx Tale
I’m a big NFL fan and anybody who follows football, or any sport for that matter, can probably relate when I say that nothing infuriates me more than an athlete who was gifted with great physical talent but squandered it.
Johnny Manziel, former Heisman Trophy winning quarterback from Texas A&M University is an example of this.
Manziel, blessed with a unique combination of quickness, speed, instinct and arm strength and accuracy, was one of the most talented players to play college football in recent years. He was drafted in the first round of the 2014 NFL draft by the Cleveland Browns and played two tumultuous years for the Browns before recently being released by the team.
The consensus on Manziel is that he has the talent to become successful in the NFL, but lacks the discipline and work ethic to focus on his craft and develop into a productive player. I’m not going to get into the numerous stories of his alcohol addiction, falling asleep in team meetings and unprofessionalism. They are documented in a recent Sports Illustrated article. The bottom line is he has the potential to be a good player, and hopefully will turn his life around and realize that potential, but right now you’d have to conclude that he’s wasting his talent.
How many of us look at Johnny Manziel and other athletes like him and say to ourselves “If only we had his talent …” and shake our heads in disgust.
Now imagine that you’re a woman and you interact with and observe men daily and deep-down you realize that men have been blessed with natural gifts that you as a woman could only dream of possessing: potential for great physical strength, emotional control, potential for high pain threshold, capacity for mental fortitude and stoicism, ability to remain calm and display courage under duress, ability to be bold and decisive and many others. Gifts that give men the potential to accomplish things that women could only dream of doing.
Faced with the realization that you cannot have these gifts, you would naturally admire those who developed and displayed them and resent those who squandered them, just like many of us do when observing professional athletes.
This is why women will naturally love and pedestalize masculine men and despise weak men and treat them accordingly. They view men as players in the game of life with a unique opportunity to accomplish greatness. Women are hard wired to want to look up to and admire us and will react with disgust if they can't.
Sure, some will argue that based on what they write and say, modern women prefer men who personify the “new masculinity, where development of a man’s uniquely masculine gifts takes a backseat to nurturing more feminine qualities.
Bullshit.
A TRP maxim applies in this case: “judge women based on what they do and not what they say.” Ask yourself, who would a woman crawl through broken glass to fuck: a man who develops and displays his masculine gifts or one who consciously chooses to squander them.
TL;DR don’t waste your masculine gifts.
