Hello fam! Firstly, a huge shout out to this community for being so supportive, empathetic and open minded when it comes to all things relationships 🤗

I apologize in advance for the super long read but I honestly didn't want to trim any of this.

I'm a 29F dating a 35M since the last 4 months. We are in a steady committed relationships and given the amount of time we've spent together (IMO 4 months is a good time), I've gradually tried to bring up important discussions around career, starting a family, money etc with my partner.

My partner is a genuinely nice guy. He is continuously working on himself - trying to be more self aware, raising his consciousness, and not afraid of vulnerability, however one area which I've noticed is him being afraid of the future, hence not wanting to plan i.e. he's someone who believes in Eckhart Tolle and Kyle Cease' philosophy of staying fully in the present moment and not thinking / planning for the future. While this is a great philosophy, I do not think Eckhart Tolle advocates inaction. What I'm veering towards is this - my partner has a troubled relationship with money (thinks one needs to slog to earn money, compromise on their values, neglect health etc). He started a freelance career in coaching with at best extremely lukewarm success. He says this career is his true calling and is passion however I do not see him working hard // I infact see a lot of resistance on taking the necessary steps to gain momentum in this field (creating a social media presence, writing articles, being a public figure) etc, which is natural coz these things DO NOT come naturally to him.

I have expressed my concerns to him however he says I'm being afraid of the future / not staying in the present moment / continually planning and aiming for perfection will take me away from the present, which is a very valid argument and perhaps true even, but ultimately these are important conversations to be had when two people who are serious are perhaps see a future together need to start having early on.

We live in an expensive city in the middle east (hint: often called Vegas of the Middle East), and so if my partner has a troubled relationship with money I fear I may need to do a lot of the heavy lifting when it comes to kids, say, in an event when he's not making enough money.

I don't want to invalidate myself and my fears coz I believe they are valid to a certain extent..however I fully agree to what my partner is saying about being afraid of the future.

I'm not sure what to do here honestly, hence reaching out to see if you have any advice for me. Thanks in advance xx

TL;DR- 29F in a relationship with a 35M. Unsure how to have / what to make of conversations around money / financial plans for the future.
