So I know that FDS advises against going 50/50 on dates - at least the first few dates. It's my understanding that this strategy is designed to filter out guys who just want to use you, either for one night or for a few years before they settle down with someone they respect more highly. However, I've always been intimidated by the thought of someone paying full on a date with me. If guys typically expect sex even when they haven't invested anything in a woman, wouldn't paying full on a date make a guy think he's especially entitled to sex? I guess this would be a blatant red flag? I'm worried that if I let a guy pay on dates with me, he will be angry if I don't get intimate with him and possibly seek revenge on me (I've heard stories of women being killed just for turning a guy down).

What do you think is the solution to this - just pay half? Only go on dates with guys I already know and/or have thoroughly vetted to make sure they're not the type to think that paying on a date equates to being owed something from me?
