The second time through I started to get it and realized the value of the exercises.

The third time through I did the exercises and realized it had to be this way for me because I was so fucked up in my thinking.

For me, identifying my covert contracts is easier to do on the back end of the contract. When I don't get what I want, I get frustrated or upset. When I find myself getting frustrated or upset, I have been using this as a trigger to assess why I am feeling this way. Usually I can figure it out from there.

I found after going through the sidebar, implementing and starting the sidebar overagain you see details in each reading that didn't click before.

The key is DO THE WORK. You won't automatically act differently because you read a book, you must actively change your mindset.

I second the comments to read the other books and then loop back to NMMNG.

Mostly it is just being aware of covert contracts, what your goals and outcomes are, and being authentic.

Search YouTube for Robert Glover. He gives some interviews and people ask him for practical suggestions which he provides. You can get more context and "tips" out of these interviews. I found them to be helpful. I think the answer to your question is that you need to be working on awareness first. Become aware of when you're doing it. Label your covert contracts when you find them and pull them out of the shadows of your mind into the light of pitiless self-examination. It helped me to start becoming more aware to just keep asking myself, "am I expecting something from this person?"

Identify the weakness by remembering the times you wanted something, but decided to keep it to yourself, for whatever reasons. Correct it by blurting your wants out whenever you feel them. That sounds lame, but I've got my dick sucked a hundred times by just saying "I'm horny" at times when I know my wife wouldn't want sex. Before, I would keep my horniness to myself and be "nice" in hopes that she would suddeny decide my sick belongs in her mouth. 0% success rate. And a 100% success rate with me being casually outspoken about wanting sex. It's not all about sex though. It applies to any other want or need you have. Verbalize them. NMMNG was a game changer for me.
