Alright, here goes.

I'm 26 years old, married, 2 kids. My dad was a huge beta, and it's what ended my parents marriage. My mom bounced around from guy to guy, and my dad literally fell to pieces, leaving me in charge of my siblings for most of my childhood. I was taught next to nothing about things like credit, loans, etc and when it came time for me to go to college, I screwed around, skipped class, and generally blew away 2 years of time and money. I decided to work for a bit, which is when I met my wife. I was a bit of an asshole then, and things were great. I worked while she was in school, and when she graduated, it was my turn.

Fast forward to now. I'm currently a student, with about 47k in debt, wanting to be a teacher... In my relationship I somehow turned into my father, being a yes man and generally being a beta bitch. I was completely enveloped in my covert contracts, blowing up every other week, etc. I've started reading NMMNG and MMSL primer and I feel pretty lost. Obviously I want to take back control over my domain, I've begun the easy steps of going to the gym, and I'm slowly beginning to recognize and (hopefully) respond correctly to them.

I guess what I am asking for is how do I go about securing my future for myself- and by extension my family? Obviously I want to reclaim my seat on the throne, but as she's the one working while I finish school, it seems to me like a pretty tough hurdle to jump, at least from where I'm standing. Any advice would be appreciated.
