I have been working on being more of a leader not only for my family but just in general.

When me and the wife and friends go out. I try to organize the fuck fest that is “what do you guys want to do?” “Idc whatever you guys want to do”. “Let’s do this” “eh I don’t feel like going there” etc.

I often run into the issue and I’m sure this is with my frame/self. Of being afraid of picking something that everyone is going to think is lame or something they don’t feel like doing and then I look like a control freak “who had to do what I wanted to do” when I’m just trying to organize.

  1. How do I Prevent this. Would it be better to suggest a couple places and have them pick. Or have them pick a couple places and then I decide? What if they are wishy washy about a suggestion.

  2. My wife has a friend who is, we’ll say an “alpha female” we always tend to butt heads. She always tries to run the show and her boyfriend is beta so he agrees with everything she says. So it makes me out numbered.

For example. I planned to take us to this place to eat way out of town. We arrived early and suggested we get a beer from a bar right near the restaurant (before it opened).

This restaurant is first some first serve. There’s no reservations for the meal happy hour we were doing and it becomes packed as soon as the doors open. So it’s best to get there right away or you might be waiting an hour plus to eat.

We sit and have a beer to waste time when we finish it’s perfect timing to pay and get in line to go eat. Her friend suggest we have another beer. I tell them they have beer there. I don’t us to have to wait to eat. Her boyfriend chimes in. Yea let’s have another beer bc his girl said it. And now they’re acting like I’m being a party pooper, but they have never been here and don’t know how it works. So we have another beer. Then the girls wants to take 1000 pictures on the walk over. I shut my mouth because I don’t want it to seem like I’m ruining the fun but we end up having to wait because of this.

I had the plan set perfect but she wanted to change it all around and I got out numbered. How do I prevent this type of thing from happening?
