UPDATE: I would call this a blue pill in action post. I was trying to be assertive (I'm having the priest over for dinner, for my own reasons) and totally messed it up. Came off blue-pilly. It's embarrassing.

For background read this:

Orig Post: Our pastor is transferring churches. We've wanted to have him over for years. I text wife that i'd like to invite him today (she away /w kids) her replies are "no" / "what's the issue? (I ask)" / "No"

I reminder her of her friend came over ~a week ago on short notice and it was fine.

Her reply: If you do it anyway I won't be home.

Her statements are about phrased as dominant/control, not requests. Not talking adult-to-adult, talking parent-to-child.

Looking for insight here. I would like him to come over and intend to invite him.
