Idk what the consensus is on here but don't hit on waitresses or women while they're working. They're paid to be nice to ya and flirting with ya just helps their tips. But I guess you'll never know unless you try to knock your socks off. You game her the same way you do any other girl.

Has she already hit you with the IHAB? If not why are you worrying about it, stop planning for failure. Get out of that mindset you can cross these obstacles when/if you come to it.

Usually I just say "cool" and continue on talking about whatever I was going to say anyway. But if she is working and responds with "i have a bf" then that's most likely her way of nicely brushing you off without having to outright reject you to your face.

I don't bother with women at their place of employment, they are paid to be nice to you. My one exception is when the waitress hands you the check with her number on it, unsolicited--very seldom, has only happened to me once.

This is not good or bad. Do not use my comment to start chasing good or bad. It is simply ineffective.

You simply have compulsive fears and desires that you are too busy satisfying, to ever truly engage with a woman. You have "too much mind". You need to be "no mind".

Here is a Truth for you to ponder: The compulsive nature of fears and desires rest upon unchallenged assumptions. If the assumptions are challenged and seen as illusions, the compulsive fear and desires that is pulling you this way and that... will collapse.

Example of unchallenged assumptions:

The flawed self:

I need to impress her.
I can impress her.
I need to hide my flaws.
I have flaws that if found out, will result in automatic rejection.
Rejection diminishes me.

The belief that prescriptions can help you*:

I need to meet some imaginary condition (like rapport) before I can say what I really want to say.
Techniques and gimmicks work.
That you can predict what she will say.
That you can successfully pull off a one-liner that you heard on reddit and it will sound good.

*the reality is if the underlying causes that inevitably result in your failure are removed, then the desired result will happen on its own. e.g. if the belief in the self collapses, then you don't care what she says and you act naturally attractively, with your god-given male sexual instincts and you need no prescriptions to help you.

Think of it this way: wouldn't it be an absolutely miserable reality if one needed to self-imrpve and prescription his way to success with girls? Does anyone who have success actually do this shit?

You need to keep these scenarios in mind:

It doesn’t matter whether she says she’s taken, because:

Could just be made up as a shit test or to avoid you (as you have also mentioned)
Could actually have a BF but doesn’t care if she does the deed with someone else
Could actually have a BF but things are going downhill and she’s looking to monkey branch
Could actually have a BF but even he may not care. Could be an open relationship.

Dozens of other scenarios. You shouldn’t ever care if she says she’s “taken” or not.
