So this question stems from the notorious OKCupid survey where women classified 80% of men as below average. I realize that women often lie, but if we assume the responses in this case are legitimate, does this mean women may not really have a scale like men do and for them a man is either high value or not with nothing in between?

Men have the scale. When a guy goes to a bar and he wants to get laid, but all he can find is a 5, he will probably still bang that 5 just as he would if it was 10. But if a woman is in the same position, is it fair to assume she's not gonna settle for less than a guy who passes her bar?
