I turned 30 a few months ago so I'm starting to get more of the "when are you getting married/settling down/having kids?" from coworkers/family, as well as an increasing number of attempts to set me up on dates with fat ex-carousel riders who are ready to lock down a beta provider. I finally told one of these matchmaker wannabes that I'm not interested unless the girl weighs <130 lbs, and it didn't go over too well.

I'm wondering how to best respond to these situations since they are going to come up more often as I get older and most other guys my age fall into line. I just read a thread in TRP about Law 38 (think as you like, but behave like others), which I never really thought about before but it makes total sense. I already do this at work and class (I'm in grad school) when people talk politics or ask what I did last weekend. I can't say I fucked a tinder slut on Saturday and went to a friend's farm to shoot AR15s on Sunday, so I just tell them I watched sports.

I have no interest in marriage/kids/suburbia rat race. I just want to take it easy, have commitment-free sex, pursue my hobbies and be left alone. However, I understand deviating from the life script is not socially acceptable and also frowned upon by employers since they want dependable, reliant worker drones.

Up until now I've just been responding with "haven't found the right person yet" when it comes up, but that isn't going to fly forever. I'm thinking about just telling people I'm gay. Maybe invent a fake "partner" to complete the illusion and prevent the matchmakers from trying to set me up with dudes. This would elevate me into a protected class, and also help insulate against false accusations from women. Not sure if this would be more trouble than it's worth though.
