I see this over and over on this reddit. This is social skills 101. Imagine you're sitting on the bus and you see a hot girl who you've met a few times, she even offered you her number but your phone was broken so you couldn't take it.

She doesn't see you yet, she is walking towards the back of the bus where you're sitting. You want to go on a date with, maybe bang this girl. So of course you yell "DO YOU WANT TO GO OUT WITH ME ON FRIDAY AT 7PM????" right?

Of course you don't. It is weird to start a conversation under any circumstances with an invitation. She may not know who you are. She may not quite be sure of you. She may not be free. You won't know or be able to overcome any of that unless you have a normal conversation first.

This brings us to our next one: You can't close with one text. Either call her and sort something out, or have a back and forth on logistics. Ask her if she'd prefer to do activity X or activity Y (for me I pick one real one joke but doesn't matter). Next message, ask when she is free. Then send a date and time to do the chosen activity.

BJT: Hey would you prefer to grab a drink or serenade me with love songs and feed me grapes?

h: ahahaha I think me singing would be too cruel so let's do the drink

BJT: Cool when are you free this weekend

h: I'm free Friday night?

BJT: Friday night 8pm meet at LOCATION sound good

h: Yeah

h: Actually how about we meet at NEARBY LOCATION

BJT: easy

But if I had have just texted 8pm Saturday wanna go rock climbing? I would have got "oh I'm busy." Most people, even hot girls, have lives and are busy. Plan for that. It isn't being dominant to just say "we should do this at this time" it's being unrealistic.

At the same time, don't overtext. This is the next most common mistake. You want to leave her wanting more, even feeling slightly frustrated over text. I commonly hear "you're so annoying to text!" that's the way it should be. You should basically just be sending 1-3 feeler texts until you get a positive reaction (jokes, memes, commentary on life- NO QUESTIONS) then sending logistics only until you set the meet. As stated, you can't go solo on the logistics because that's socially awkward.

The only exception to the above rule is when you get shit tested. When you get shit tested either AGREE AND AMPLIFY or MISINTERPRET. For example she texts: "Why do you want to hang out with me?" and you send back "Wow you're getting really needy x". She texts "you've got to win me over" and you text "I know I do which is why I bought you a thousand roses and a horse to sit atop while I read you beautiful love poetry."
