This pertains to manly men, however, women can benefit from a few tips in this guide. All of this I've taken from experience, no corny books, no TED talks, no seddit advice, all my personal experiences.

1)Enough with the "Hey" and "what's up?" nothing is more boring than a conversation starter like that. Instead bring up something of interest, something that is worth talking about and keep it going as a conversation instead of a game of 20 questions. If the conversation starts to dry out, let it don't force a conversation.

2) Keep those texts short and to the point. Try to avoid wordy messages and texts that extend longer than 5-6 lines. I've sent my share of paragraphs back in the day and looking back it showed really just how desperate I was without me even knowing it.

3) DON'T BE THIRSTY! Stop trying to make plans every time you text him or her. Let the conversation ride and ask when appropriate. It doesn't make you look forward it makes you look desperate. Stop with the lol's and haha's after and before every message, It makes you look less confident and like a fifth grader. You think Ron Swanson would send a text with an lol or haha when trying to be genuine? C'mon guys it just looks bad. Save the lol's and haha's for an appropriate moment. Avoid :)'s and ;)'s in every message as well. It looks creepy and will give you that "nice guy" complex we are all trying to avoid.

4)If he or she isn't texting you back or trying to start a conversation every now and then...SPOILER ALERT: THEY'RE NOT INTERESTED and its only going to hurt you more and more if you continue to send multiple messages while receiving no or short worded responses. Best thing to do is move on regardless of how "perfect" you thought they were and keep your chin up. Not all guys or girls will be interested in you...learned that the hard way

5) Learn to move on. If that guy or girl hasn't responded in days...DELETE THAT NUMBER. I'm telling you not only will it make you feel better, but it gives you that extra boost to officially move on and get him or her out of your head.

6) Last, text the one your interested in every other day or a few times a week. Nothing is worse than a good morning and good night text every single day...I know some girls post about how they love that kind of stuff, but they don't and thats another lesson I learned the hard way. Texting them every second of every day kills your attraction even if you think you look and feel like Ryan Gosling, nothing can hurt you more than over texting. Save all the information about yourself when you meet up and talk more about yourself in person than in text. Keep yourself a bit of a mystery! Also do not compliment them over text!! You can't control the context of it if its in a message and can come off very creepy if wrong wording is used. Some girls just want you to tell them how pretty or hot they are and once you do more than twice attraction dies. Its hard to explain but for women they just don't see you the same anymore. Also complementing constantly and sending :)'s and lol's give you that "nice guy" complex which again kills attraction.
