Seddit, I noticed that there wasn't much on grooming advice anywhere on this site. Taking care of yourself is a key to baseline seduction and is something I’ve spent some time on. I’d like to share with you some of the advanced grooming techniques/lessons I’ve been able to acquire over the years.

I initially wrote a ton of stuff and found that it wasn't fitting on the page well, so I broke it up into 4 parts:

Beard/Shaving

Okay, so this is a complicated area. And everyone seems to have an opinion. But this is mine: Goatees are a turn off to most women. Soul patches are a turn off to most women. Chin straps are a turn off to most women.

However, like the hair on your head, you will attract different women with how you present your facial hair. For example, you might see Hipster girls with dudes with mustaches. That’s their demo.

For years, I went the shaving route. However a couple of years ago, I began wearing a light beard/stubble. And women responded VERY well to it. It added years to my otherwise youthful appearance and added definition to my baby face.

For my personal facial grooming habits:

  • 1) I clipper my beard every two days using the 2 guard.

  • 2) I shave in the pattern of my chin line. That clean-up adds a little bit of respectability and allows me to get away with facial hair at the office (this can be a problem in more conservative businesses).

  • 3) You definitely want to make sure you clean up the cheeks and any straggler hairs.

  • 4) If my face gets dry underneath, I use aftershave balm on it.

  • 5) If my stubble is getting too itchy, I put hair conditioner on it while in the shower.

If you shave, follow these rules:

  • 1) Use the best possible razor.

  • 2) Sharpen your blades by using this guys technique

  • 3) If you can shave in the shower, do it. The steam will loosen up your stubble and reduce razor burn.

  • 4) Use shave gel. My favorite is King of Shaves. http://www.shave.com/shave/?tab=gels It’s a gel that doesn’t turn into a foam like that Edge shit.

  • 5) Rinse with cold water. That will seal up your pores.

  • 6) Finally use an after shave balm. I recommend The Art of Shaving aftershave balm.

Net Message: Patterning a look that caters to your audience is healthy preparation. It’s like getting scouting reports on a baseball pitcher. But remember to cast a wide net. You don’t want to be typecast as the guy with the mustache. You are only going to get girls who drink PBR ironically and wear skinny jeans. Finally, you will be surprised by what a small tweak in your facial hair will bring. Give it a shot, it’s like Seinfeld said ‘It’s like a vacation from yourself’…
