Edit: I saw the posts about the battlefield on /r/foreveralone. I guess that some people aren't ready for this subreddit. However, I have gotten a lot of positive response from one-on-one messaging people. I think the difference may have been in the approach, but I'm probably going to stop trying.

Hey seddit,

I haven't been around here in a long time, but I've posted a few times before. I'm not sure if any of you would be interested in this, but I stumbled across /r/amiugly this evening, and as expected, I found a lot of fairly attractive looking guys with no confidence, upset that they have zero success with women. I know most of us here have differing opinions on what approach is effective or what techniques to use here and there, but I think that all of us know what it's like to be the AFC, even if for a very short while.

I personally love and adhere to a morphed version of Mystery/Erik Von Markovik's Mystery Method, but I'm sure people with differ on their opinions. I have been messaging guys about it on /r/amiugly and pointing them to this subreddit, because I remember that "I never looked at it that way" feeling that I got when I started doing pickup.

Obviously, /r/seddit isn't a personal army, and no one has to do anything, but I feel bad for people that try to intuitively pickup women, so I feel good about doing this. I'm sure any messages would be appreciated.

This is basically what I've been sending to people, in case you don't want to bother with writing anything yourself:

"Hey man, I saw your post on /r/amiugly. I just want to let you know that I used to be really frustrated with my body image and my lack of results with women. However, I read The Mystery Method by Mystery/Erik Von Markovik, and it COMPLETELY changed my opinions about attraction. I had been doing everything wrong for a really, really long time. Women (generally) don't give a shit about what you look like. Getting in good shape might always be helpful (as good looks do help), but you're not completely hosed, even if you one day end up obese. Think of it like this - if you're trying to program a computer and you open up a shell environment and start randomly hitting keys, you may get some success with it occasionally. However, if you read the documentation and see what inputs produce what outputs, you will reliably get the right results, with practice. I used to be a "random key basher" until I finally got this book and read it, then with some in-field practice, I started getting what I wanted. My first attempt at implementing what I learned landed me a girl in bed. Women aren't a mystery, like Freud suggested - they're an API with counterintuitive function calls, like Perl.

The book isn't a "here's how you sleep with women" guide. It's a "here's how attraction works from a Darwinian perspective and how you can manipulate it so that you can go from meeting a woman to getting her to trust you, find you attractive, and be willing to do what you want (with some limits, of course)." It's available for free as a PDF, so Google it. You can also go to /r/seddit and talk to guys there - there's a lot of differing approaches and it will help you develop an approach that is good for you.

This is one of those "too good to be true" moments, except that it is true. "

Edit: HOLY FUCKING SHIT THIS IS FRUSTRATING. I hate seeing good looking, nice guys who think they are ugly or that something is wrong with them because women turn them down. Goddamit.
