What's going on guys. Anyway, I've had a thought nagging at me for quite a while now. The thought became clear after reading the e-book on the front page (The Alabaster Girl I highly recommend reading it I found it interesting). Without getting too deep into it, it describes getting really close with women in terms of conversation and making a really strong connection to seal the deal and such.

That brings me to the question of being afraid to get really close with women. I don't just mean in general; it could be that girl you hit on at the bar last night, or a friend that could become something more. I think it's just ultimately opening up; showing the highest form of vulnerability maybe?

I feel like I've got this gnawing sense of fear in my gut, and I think it's stemming from potential intimacy issues. I can give more info on the issue since a lot of things have changed since finding this subreddit, but I'll keep the post short and sweet. I'm just curious if anybody else has or is going through the same thing.

Edit: I'm really glad this post got upvoted so much. I feel as though this isn't just my issue but an issue we all ask ourselves at times. To give a bit more background, I've slept around a little with the confidence you get from this subreddit, and I've had a solid fwb this semester of college. This is all pretty new to me. High school was fairly dry as I was a huge AFC at the time; your quintessential nice guy. Things are great now, but the thought of a deeper connection has really started to get to me. I dunno if it's catching feelings, or just looking to open up more and show some vulnerability.

I can admit that I'll "go through the motions" at times, just going through pick up without showing any deeper character you know? Maybe this is just some mental backlash from not opening up fully?

Edit 2: I think what I'm trying to say is that vulnerability is scary but can make us so much happier. I sure as hell can't be the only one here is a bit scared to show true colors. Took me long enough to put into words lol.
