so basically most of those pickup guys are kinda outdated tbh. what worked for me: models (obviously), charisma on command on youtube for basics, and been using this thing called gleam which is like duolingo but for social skills. the daily missions actually push you to practice irl instead of just consuming content. toastmasters helped too but gleam's way less intimidating to start with. key is consistent practice over theory (learned that the hard way lol)

Just absorbing material "in general" can be good but can also be harmful if you don't have a truth check system. And that truth-checking system is your real world experience. Without it you'll think lots of things are true that aren't. Or you'll absorb advice that would help someone else but that would actually be harmful to your situation because you're a different guy and you have different issues (possibly the complete opposite issue).

Any beginner looking for help on this sub is f*cked up, just look at the comments so far. Everyone keeps preaching about being 'natural,' which is complete BS for someone just starting out. Naturalness comes with experience, it takes years to develop yet, ironically, beginners are the ones most obsessed with trying to seem natural. As a beginner, you need practical advice, simple things like 'do this, say that.' That’s why almost anything can be helpful.

John Anthony’s program is very good despite the fact that his personality sucks. When it comes to actionable steps, his program 'Occam' is actually quite good (is Mystery Method explained with other words)

Todd V is also excellent, though his material includes more detailed explanations of certain concepts..

Chase Amante is the GOAT, but he goes even deeper than Todd V, his program can be hard to follow, and it might make you feel like seduction is a never-ending journey. However, he has written tons of free articles on GirlsChase.com, which I personally consider the most trustworthy, honest, and down-to-earth resource out there.

The best resource is to go out. I've read the books and watch the infields and pretty much most of the resources there are, and all of them are opinionated and circumstantial advice that only works (if at all) in certain contexts and situations.

The skill of playing the game is a tacit skill, not an explicit one. The most efficient way to learn is by lived experience and failure, not by reading books, or by watching videos.

Would you learn more about what a chicken tasted like if I described it to you in words and showing you a video of me eating it and enjoying it, or would you learn more by just eating the chicken yourself?

Yes you'll risk salmonella if it's undercooked, but at least now you know exactly what it tasted like.

The best advice I can give is this - you have to accept that dating is hard. And you'll have to be vulnerable to build comfort with the girl. That means you'll have to be not only ok, but comfortable with saying "I like you" straight to her face and accept that the decision of whether she likes you back is up to her to make. Not saying you'll do that immediately or need to do that explicitly, but the point is that you should be comfortable displaying your intentions without shame or dishonesty.

There are no secrets. There isn’t a book or video product that is going to magically change anything.

Learn basic fundamentals of good game. Learn what most women respond to and find attractive. Learn what most guys sticking points are. It’s ok to binge watch or read some material on this subject. But focus on the core fundamentals of the kind of guy most women are attracted to. We all have these traits. You don’t need much beyond this.

Then go out and experiment. Meet women, approach, go on dates, be in conversations with attractive women as much as you can. Practice and improve. Make this your main focus.

Absolutely none of those things. They will all make you more disconnected from the realities of dating. By far and away the most important thing for you to be doing is just being around lots of people your age in real life. That's it. No trying to pick people up, that's weird you trying to be normal. Once you're spending at least 10 hours a week doing that, you can read whatever and then that very week see how embarrassing and wrong they are but you absolutely have to go and practice being normal if you ever want to connect with real people in an authentic way.
