Date set up for Thursday. How do I continue texting the girl so that she doesn’t lose interest before then?

It's tough because it's a coinflip. There are girls who like and need texting interaction, and others who hate it. You are basically walking on a tight rope. Overtext and she may flake, don't text and she may flake too.

It's all up to your personal calibration of the woman to decide how to handle it.

Occasional short texts. Nothing more than a sentence, 2 at a push. Light-hearted observations or jokes. The day before the date, text her asking her to text you the next day so you know you’re still on. This is a great way to avoid being stood up. No text = no date. If she’s interested, she’ll text you in the morning/afternoon like “just making sure we’re still on tonight”. You shouldn’t need to remind her. If you don’t hear from her on the day of the date, just assume it’s off.

Until then, don’t text more than once a day unless she seems to be willing to make conversation. Even then, texts should be sporadic. Every few hours, don’t sit there replying instantly.

The point is to keep a conversation going, but as slowly as possible in the run up to the date.

You’ve kind of made this difficult, normally I try to set 1st dates ASAP - next day, or the day after. Any longer than that and it’s easy for people to lose interest, find a better thing to do that day, etc… 1st dates are actually VERY nerve-wracking events and if this girl’s friend says “want to go on a drink Thursday?” She’ll bail on you because it’s an easy get-out. She’ll probably regret it after, but it’s easy to get nervous cold feet before a date and start looking for reasons to bail.

Edit: obviously everyone is different. She might not really get that nervous in which case you’re ok. But I’ve had lots of girls bail on a 1st date only to message later on trying to rearrange.

If she does bail, it’s important not to get weird. Just reply saying “no worries!” and carry on with your life. Don’t start doing “nice guy” stuff like texting her insults and begging her to reschedule.

Have you decided where you’re meeting? If not, then find a place and give her sort of hints and ask questions. For eg: let’s say you find a place for ice cream and another for froyo. Ask her whether she likes ice cream or fro yo one day. After she replies, follow it up with something in the lines of how you’ve found the quaintest(insert your own superlative adjective here) froyo place in town the next day and drop the details. That takes care of two days for you. By then you may have enough threads to follow up with.

Less is more in my experience. Go do other shit in your life and leave talking to her for in person. If you spend all your time texting her you won’t have anything to talk about in person and it just keeps you from doing other things in your life.

I set the date up, and then do not text until the day before just to check in/and ask if we are still on. If the girl is interested and texting YOU that’s fine to reply.

she won’t lose interest - if anything, too much communication can make a girl bail last minute. text her on wednesday and say something about the weather on thursday , like “looks like we’re gonna get a nice night tomorrow night, maybe we can get a table outside” or something. if you want to text more beforehand, make sure it’s meaningful & not just pointless bc when someone feels like it’s not easy to keep a convo going via text, they’re probably not going to be super excited to talk more in person.

You have a date for Thursday! Trust her with that. She’s an adult, not a child who needs to be reminded. If you genuinely wanna chat with her through the week, text her. If you’re busy or are not a texting kind of guy, don’t.

Just be yourself and have fun with her. Let her decide whether she likes that or not. If she doesn’t like you, there’s other women out there who will yeah? Cliche right? Well, it looks like she likes you so far, so just enjoy your time with her.

if the date is set you dont need to text her. mission accomplished. just shoot her a reminder text the day before the date, and then the morning of the date.
