I'm at a sticking point and maybe others have had it too. So i'm upper 30s, and have started going on many dates as only last year got out of a long term relationship. But the sex is not happening. Pretty much every date I have had has ended with makeouts, and they tend to be fun. The dates are 2-4 hours and include venue changes and all of that. I typically just do drinks. What's confusing me is that I'm getting lots of kissing and makeouts and I'm getting 2nd-3rd dates (but ghosted after that or it fizzles out). So I'm confused because if women are ok with the makeouts, and if they are often willing to see me again, then there's something preventing me from closing the deal. It's counterintuitive, it would make more sense if I couldn't even get touchy, or if I was always getting flaked on after the first date--but that's not the case here.

For those of us with the sticking point of closing the deal or finding it hard to end up at your place ("it's late, I should go") --are there any subtle fixes? Pull sooner--or immediately after the first make out? Try do dates on a Friday/Saturday night instead of weeknights? Do a more creative date than "drinks" or even the dreaded dinner? Should one be inviting 2nd dates direct to their spot--although wouldn't that set off some resistance?

Logistics stats: Age upper 30s; Live in a major US city; live a block away from many bars--but often go on dates about a 10-15 minute uber away because my personal favorite spots are there; my dates are 30+ women from online.
