Well, I think the issue is that her suggestion was the better one for individuals who have rational self-esteem, from successfully pursuing a full life, which includes individuals looking for serious romance. A swim date when that’s a really easy way to get to know her better, where you can meet her doing something you like, where it’s not a waste of time to meet her even if she’s not worth dating, where you can get help in your swimming and when you’re both half-naked in swimsuits, that sounds good to me.

I don’t know what your relationship goals are, but I doubt you blocked yourself. If she wasn’t looking for a hook up, then that was never an option and she did propose a meeting later in the week. If she was, then I think your comment would have helped you instead.
