Short guy here. Being eye level helps build a stronger connection imo. Strong game overrides the majority of the disadvantages of being short and being in shape helps a lot.

I'm like you between 5'4" and 5'5" and i have done really good cold approaches. I have this theory that I'm short but because of that I look less as a threat; so I know being short is not that attractive but we can still have good outcomes from it. I have given a lot of big surprises to guys way bigger than me; that's why I see it like not too attractive but it is like special skill too 😉.
