For most of seduction I recommend two main areas of focus.
Self Esteem, the greatest aphrodisiac for all women is confidence, if you don't have you struggle with women gaurenteed. I see many men on here with zero self esteem and it's killing their chances. There's plenty of self help books to build self esteem, like the 'six pillars of self esteem'. Self esteem is alot like working out, the dividends don't pay off for some time, but over time you'll begin to realize progress.
Exercise, this is an extention of self esteem. Exercise helps build self esteem, but don't expect exercise to alone build self esteem. Think of it as a great positive step in self esteem. Anyways exercise does so much, makes you more confident, makes you feel better, look better, and be healthy. All great things
The problem with these two catalysts in seduction is they are the slowest and hardest to build. Today's society is much too lazy and impatient to work hard enough to build on them. Gotta crawl before you walk, gotta walk before you run

Solid advice and simple ideas to make improvements to yourself

Health & Fitness, Mindfulness, developing my business, developing a few skills, and approaching is an important part of working on yourself!
Don't use self-development as an excuse to withdraw from socializing. I'm over 6 feet, have always been complimented on my looks all my life, am a fitness model but only lost my virginity in my mid 20s after actively working on my ability to communicate with women.
Unless you're rail thin or significantly overweight, going to the gym isn't gonna make a massive difference in your dating life or the reactions you get when you approach, more money won't really help much in the beginning stages of dating too, its better for when you're in a relationship, and having a lot of money and bigger muscles won't really make you more confident with women, at best it'll just make your ego bigger.
You'll still say or do stupid things, you'll still come off as nervous even if you're trying to be obnoxious because of the inflated ego, and you still won't be at ease or totally comfortable around women you're attracted to just because your pecs and bank account are bigger.
Approaching now doesn't defeat the purpose, it fulfills it, because currently the purpose is to develop your confidence and competence when interacting with women you're attracted to and the best way to do that is by talking to lots of girls like that.
Just keep approaching at the same time that you're exercising and doing the other self-development stuff. You don't have to let go of either, you can do it all at the same time. I know dating must suck for you right now but we all suck at something we just started working on. I know I did but like everything else that we suck at, it'll get better if you just keep working on it and refine things.

I like your attitude, i think there is a lot of wisdom here. I actually am trying to quit smoking and I have sciatica / back pain. These two are really bad for relationships so I should probably at least improve on these two, but after i think you are right not to neglect talking to girls still, i am lacking on my confidence here, maybe you are right about the ego thing.
Perhaps I'll get back into approach by the time my nicotine anxiety is gone and try to stay social in the meantime.

I've been going to the gym, eating better, watching calories, saving up money and doing a college degree. And like the other poster said, I am avoiding talking to women with the excuse of self improvement. I gotta work on that.

Exercise. Starting dance tonight (ballet). I do kegel exercises. Everyone should do those. Cleaning my place, scoping out date spots, checking places to meet women. Working though a lot of personal shit to help with confidence. Reading and watching lots of videos. Slowing working on approaches.

I'm currently working on my voice. When interacting with strangers, I sound nervous and kina dull. I want to sound confident and interesting. It will take time but I believe it will be worth it.

Reading, exercise and having a job or hobbie where you can be proud of what you are doing. Six pillars of self esteem is a great book to start with, but of all the books Freidrich Nietzsches books were the most important for me (it can be hard to read at times but trust me, it's worth it). Exercise is self explanatory, I think. Doing something you are proud of is important because your self esteem will grow with it, and it will raise your confidance in being able to handle new things. You should also learn how to use that confidance in other areas of your life. Be careful with that though. Even though your selfesteem will grow when you are good at something, you shouldn't put all your chips on just that one thing. Be confidend because you are you. If you lose that thing that makes you confident you'll again find yourself insecure.
