dont push for it.
As friends is a bad line, if she wants to spend time with you then she'll either...
A. agree and not mention the boyfriend
or
B. tell you "sure as friends"
C. "I have a boyfriend but we could as friends" (I would avoid this since you wont get anywhere)
[–]jakobolobo 33 points34 points35 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
I agree with you, but I still think what he did was good. It seems as he's in the beginning process of figuring out the ropes. And in that period it's good to find out what can be done and what can't. I would always say push it until you see she becomes uncomfortable, or directly tells you she isn't interested, just to see what the limits are.
[–]StudiosS 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
The stupid thing he did was commenting on how cute she is.
That's stupidity. The more you compliment a girl the less she's interested.
[–]Dizbobble 7 points8 points9 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Not necessarily. Direct game can be good if you can do it right, this just definitely wasn't a case of doing it right
[–]StudiosS 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The only way to properly compliment a girl that you don't know or barely know is if you're using push/pull techniques. It's been documented for decades now, insults disguised as compliments, or a compliment followed by a joke to release tension. That's factual. I do it nowadays without even thinking about it, but it actually does work
[–]jcrawson 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Don't knock number 3. They have become my closest friends and the best wing people I've ever met. Plus are great for reference
( for eg:
ME: so I approach a woman and after asking her out and getting shot down what do I do
THEM: it's a lost cause
)
[–]cantstopmekunt 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
You’re not gonna get anywhere with either answer.... that’s why if she doesn’t respond with a 100% yes not sure, maybe, I’m down, none of that. It has to be YES then you need to assume it means no and move on, don’t exchange numbers, don’t add on sc or fb (you just look like a fucking creep) just go.
[–]alt3r3go99 -3 points-2 points-1 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I believe B) is the way to go. Or even something like "why, does your boyfriend decide who you want to spend some time/have a coffee with?". Have her know it's her call and not her bf's.
In the end of the line, it can still be a no, it could be a simple coffee with a new friend from the court, or it could even lead to sex, which would be her agreement upon a suggestion she could reject in the first place, had she wanted to.
[–]KookaB 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Eh that line kinda sounds like a douche who can't take no for an answer to me.
[–]alt3r3go99 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Douchebags usually end up with the girl, don't they ? But in all seriousness, you can sound lame or you can sound badass while saying that. It all depends on HOW you say it, and not on what you say. Like most of things you say to a girl when trying to pick up on her. It's showing intent and that you are determined to get what you want, without leaving any space to lose what you are after, unless of course she explicitly denies.
[–]magnetradio 38 points39 points40 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
"Maybe" and "sometime" needs to be taken out of your vocabulary when talking to women. Let's see how this would sound without these two words:
"Do you want to grab a coffee?"
See how this one sounds more direct and confident? When you say maybe and sometime, it makes you seem uncertain with your self-confidence. Women hate uncertainty. They love spontaneity, but hate uncertainty.
Practice leaving these words out of your vocabulary when you ask women out and you'll notice you'll appear more confident, which can lead to better results.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
So true. Immediately it makes him seem more assertive and like he’ll take care of the details.
[–]magnetradio 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
It's very important to understand male/female dynamic before trying to get laid or get a girlfriend. Because once you get her, you won't know how to handle her feminine ways. You will lose her because you don't know a man's role in the relationship.
[–]h1mera 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
In this case she can answer yes or no.
This can be improved to: "Let's grab a coffee sometime". Don't give her chance to say no. It will be much more difficult for her to say no. Don't ask girls what they like. Do what you like :-)
[–]magnetradio 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Dude, every post of yours is the same. A girl says she has a boyfriend and then you make it weird. It's not a fucking shit test, it's also not some game, it's straight up rejection. Next time a girl tells you she has a boyfriend, say "no problem" and move on. Don't get their instagram, snap, etc. Just move on, holy shit lmao
[–]Dizbobble 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Pretty much. I don't want to take him over the coals too bad as he is clearly very new, but he still has a lot of room to grow
[–]deadshot_191 16 points17 points18 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Did you ask for her social afterwards?
[–]ReefLedger 10 points11 points12 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I dont understand getting the IG of someone who rejected me and I only played 2 games of dodgeball with....am I missing something?
[–]alexdiezg 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Well it seems that he's got her Instagram.
[–][deleted] 28 points29 points30 points 6 years ago (15 children) | Copy Link
This doesn't look like a success.... Regardless of whether she has a bf or not she is not interested. You should of dropped it and not insist that is creepy. She didn't even wanted to be friends so i don't see the point here. She probably just wanted another Instagram follower and hoped you won't bother her lol.
[–]thefestivalfilmmaker 30 points31 points32 points 6 years ago (12 children) | Copy Link
It’s a success regardless because he tried. People are way too tied into results. Once he does this enough he will get there, it’s the beginning that’s tough. I applaud you good sir keep going don’t give up!! One approach a day this is inspiring stuff I am doing this next!!
[–]broomhead 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
Marking EVERYTHING as a success isn't a great way to improve at anything.
[–]thefestivalfilmmaker 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
If you never approach women at all, which I think is the case for the OP and is the case for me as well as I’m just starting in this, EVERY approach is a HUGE success starting out. Any time you don’t listen to that fear, that intense anxiety about how she’ll react, any time you override that and you put yourself out there by going up to a girl and saying ANYTHING at all, that is a success.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I understand that but we have to draw the line on what is regarded as successful and what isn't clearly. Approaching women and sticking to that ideal regardless of the content isn't good idea. You can approach yes and you probably should to maximise your chances and game BUT big BUT you should not approach in situations where other people might feel uncomfortable or you shoudn't turn the process into something others feel uncomfortable. That was what I was referring to. That cannot be regarded as success because if you think doing it this way is fine then it isn't. Think of it like this , you are making a nice toast but you burn it towards the end. If you never acknowledge the fact that burning it isn't good and instead insist that it was the part of the process and it is okay you would never make a good toast. To me from this post all I see is that least I got her Instagram . Sometimes you cannot make win out of everything in typical sense. Leaving it on balance is winning.
[–]thefestivalfilmmaker 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Oh I totally agree with the uncomfortable part when it comes to not making girls feel harassed. I’m not sure that’s what happened here. She simply wasn’t interested, not necessarily uncomfortable. Since we weren’t there we can’t really judge, but I do encourage the OP to keep approaching because it’s the only way you learn these things.
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It looks like we are almost on same page lol. I agree we weren't there so we can't judge. Just saying this kind of stuff looks creepy and won't give you any advantage. So there is an chance that she might be creeped out too and from reading convo I more believe that it wasn't comfortable then to believe it was tbh. In the end it is risky unnecessary bad stuff. I agree that OP should keep approaching too just he has to change his style in next one and understand that what he is doing is not effective and plain harmful to both parties. I mean if I insisted on person when I would not gain pretty much anything you never know how other person would respond so it is good idea to not look like creep and leave people alone with plain no problem have a nice day. It is one of the first principles of approaching so he has to learn and use it quick. Because as I said you don't know how girl you approached would behave if you keep demanding.
[–][deleted] -4 points-3 points-2 points 6 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
It isnt success if trying is overridden by being creepy. Yes there is an effort but in a bad sense , it is not healthy. It isn't about results you can try normally and fail issue here is insisting that is big no no.
[–]thefestivalfilmmaker 6 points7 points8 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Asking to have coffee as friends is not unhealthy or insisting. Who knows how she felt about it. Clearly this is a starting point. It’s better than not doing anything and sitting around wondering what would’ve happened. Yes this wasn’t a good approach to it and I always think connecting with a girl on a human level must come first before asking them out, but baby steps.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Look I am okay with trying cold approach that is good practice nothing wrong with that. However if you turn interactions to this it would not go anywhere and you mess up all the effort you put. You basically can cut it when you supposed to and don't leave other party in stress and don't waste time yourself. Simple as that. This is bad for both parties. Asking a coffee as a friend is just plain lie and both parties know about it. So let's pass that.
[–]TheMofoReal 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
What part of it is creepy? He just did 2 questions. How is that insisting dude?
[–][deleted] 15 points16 points17 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
He asked same questions initiating contact. İf girl says she has bf she either told you a lie which you should leave her or she has a bf you should leave her. Then you don't go and ask for a coffee as friends everyone know reality here , then when she says she doesn't even want a coffee as friends you don't get her Instagram. It is just plain creepy and me getting downvoted would not change this fact.
[–]TheMofoReal 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I don't know who downvoted, but I get where you are coming from. Is kinda pushy, but from the info that OP posted there's no way to say it's creepy. If a girl tells you she has a boyfriend doesn't mean you are prohibited to talk to her, although obviously one should uderstand she is not interested.
I don't know OP but if he is starting to put himself outhere this counts as a win, since he haven't (allegedly) been disrespectful. The fact that he has not yet the social skills down, at this stage is irrelevant. (If you are OP reding this, good for you. Just keep in mind your surroundings, and be respectful)
[–][deleted] 5 points6 points7 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yeah I mean trying and such as I said in my other response is good practice and definitely confident booster. However being pushy just spoils that. It wastes further time for you and you can creep others. So not good. Well I haven't been there but If she has rejected him 2 times it doesn't sound like she been comfortable. If she has boyfriend you as stranger pretty much have what to talk her about? She isn't interested romantically which she mentioned. So then you turn and say as friend 1) that looks needy. 2) no one ever would believe that after that point even if you changed your mind. She would always question your intentions hence she plain rejected that option too. Then finally somehow she gave ig which is low risk. She can block him if she wants to. Plus girls care a lot about Instagram followers these days ( lame but true ). Anyway OP try what you trying ( cold approach ) but be sensible on people's boundaries please.
She 100% wanted him to fuck off, and giving him her Instagram makes him think he got a foot in the door when in reality she just wants more followers and validation/orbiters
[–]SmoothPrimal 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Short term fail. Long term success. His challenge is an approach a day.
[–]Logical_Bones 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I have noticed that girls tend to be ready to reject approaches. Since it’s the norm for us to approach women, they are used to guys coming up to them. If they gave every guy who asked the time of day it would be crazy. If you rush it, she is likely to reject it. I’m just now starting out in this so I have realized myself from experience that asking a girl if she wants to go out sometime too quickly usually leads to her claiming she has a boyfriend. Unless you’re just some hot dude, your chances are way better if you have a good solid conversation before asking.
[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
As a girl I’ll try to give my perspective. It’s definitely an ego thing as a lot of women in their younger years especially have a lot of attention coming their way so it’s easy to get a little rush from rejecting men that they could’ve had but didn’t need.
I definitely agree that you need some kind of social currency to stand out as leverage from other guys. Humor is especially nice as well as looks of course. I think guys who are ‘red pilled’ especially have that somewhat rough untamed quality that a lot of men seem to be lacking today. It’s hard to toe the line between dominant and scary.
In the end I think guys need to realize how important evolution is in the grand scheme of things. Women are more selective because if they get pregnant they have a ‘burden’ so to say. So they tend to be tough evaluators compared to men, who don’t have to risk going through something as strenuous as pregnancy. Therefore for a guy to interest a woman who is in the stage where she can reproduce (and one could argue in her prime/most fertile) it’s imperative that the guy have as many tricks up his sleeves and good attributes at the ready to display if he’s going up against so many other guys the woman is being selective towards.
I think this is also why strength in men is so valued by women . It was a good idea to show his strength attributes to the females by playing an athletic game but he really could have upper things by taking off his shirt and possibly showing off more assets, assuming he works out/ has a nice build that will make him stand out.
[–]Dizbobble 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
First off, great job in deciding to put yourself out there. That being said...
Don't push and don't backpedal. If she turns you down for a coffee date, don't tuck your tail between your legs and act like you would be okay with friendzoning yourself.
Just acknowledge her response, optionally wish her a good day, and go about your business
I got her Instagram
Delete it. She isn't interested in you at all, so don't become an orbiter in the hopes that one day she will. Don't validate her at the cost of your dignity.
Edit:
Looked through your approach history. You REALLY need to back the fuck off with pushing. If you ask her out and she says no, acknowledge it and GTFO. You are pushing WAY too hard, and you are creeping girls the fuck out and making people uncomfortable. Take no for an answer and move on and find someone who says yes. Backpedaling and suggesting going as friends is weird, pushing 4 or 5 times after she says no and she is worrying about her safety. Back the fuck off
[–]STD_Tyler 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Bro you gotta have a conversation first before asking her out. And stop parroting the same opener in ALL situations...
[–]IvoTailefer 2 points3 points4 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
after ur approach if she says: oh i have a boyfriend you look her n eye and say: well hes a lucky guy. then leave it alone.
other than that good job and i like ur Approach everyday approach. i do that when im hungry. i dont right now because im fat with steady great sex thx to my sexy fwb, but i have her spending time with me because I APPROACHED her first. it started with the approach!! now i just treat her well.
[–]eitherbakedorbaking 4 points5 points6 points 6 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link
Definitely need to build rapport with a girl before asking her to hang out. As a girl, there's no way I'll accept a guy buying me a drink unless we're vibing and having a good conversation. You need to give girls a reason to want to hang out with you.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
What about if you have a classmate...about how many classes after should you try and hang out if you have her laughing and she giving you high fives? And how many is too late?
[–]eitherbakedorbaking 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Very different when you have an ongoing relationship with someone. If I were you I would just send it and ask her out, emphasizing that even if she's not keen to date, you care about your friendship and you don't want to lose her as a friend (if that's true). Because that's the biggest risk, right? Just remember, rejection is better than regret.
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Thanks man.I get what you mean. On that note, I feel I joke to much (naturally) and everywheren lol.Is that bad for Attraction?I don't wanna be 'that funny guy from class'.Maybe I should tone It down and let her talk more? When I was talking she paid attention ,but as soon as I stopped she didn't say much and was texting someone on her phone.
I was trying to see if she had something she wanted to talk about or keep my interest in her. That was the last 20 min of class and she put her headphones on last couple minutes(damn airpods) and seemed to want to leave in a rush so I didnt even tell her a proper goodbye🤷🏻♂️
I gotta say tho this girl has a hippie spirit...and on break she just straight up told me "I gotta go pee brb" lol.
Anyone wanna chime in go ahead.
[–]user20180620 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Since you're female.... I want to get your thoughts on something.
I get that as a female you have plenty of options, and want to make sure you vet a guy before you spend time with him. However, this leads to a conundrum. what do you do with a guy that seems interesting, but there's no plausible reason for you to hang out at that moment, and no probable way of running into him again?
Like in this thread. Random dude meets random girl at trampoline park. The odds are very good they'll never see each other again either at that trampoline park, or anywhere else in their City. So that guy... You don't really have a way to hang out enough to build a vibe.
I mean, if he's super hot that might be enough. Or if he's really charming maybe a 10-minute interactions all you need to feel a "vibe". But for less outstanding guys... Who you need to be near for a longer time to vet... Do you just write off the idea that they might be worth getting to know (since you don't have an instant vibe, and don't have a plausible reason to extend the interaction to learn more)
Thanks
[–]eitherbakedorbaking 1 point2 points3 points 6 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Honestly, yes, if I'm not feeling any sort of way about someone after a few minutes of talking to them I don't see any reason to pursue spending more time with them. Because if a few minutes of conversation wasn't compelling, I don't have reason to believe that more time with them will be any more compelling.
Maybe this is just me but I can tell pretty quickly if I'm super keen to spend more time with someone, guy or girl, romantic or platonic. I haven't thought much about why, but I guess it has to do mostly with their level of positivity, engagement, amount of judgement, etc.
[–]user20180620 -1 points0 points1 point 6 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I could see how this might vary between girls, but the bottom line is that for you, there is no real point in "building rapport" beyond the initial contact. Either the vibe is there in few minutes... Or it's not.
If the coincidental contact is so brief that the guy can't build sufficient rapport with you in that location and in that time frame... The interaction is dead on arrival.
So the only next step worth considering with a girl like you is a direct escalation into a date. If the vibe is there, then the date is a given... Either insta date or number for logistics. If the vibe isn't there, there is no point in moving to a second location. And no point in getting a number.
That you didn't consider looks as a factor in how you make decisions makes me chuckle. But in my experience it's a vanishingly rare woman that self-reflects... So kudos for getting that far.
To other readers... There is a conclusion we can reach from this story... If women need to have a particular feeling to accept further escalation (which they do) and building that feeling takes time (which it does)... Then one goal of game is to accelerate the seduction process so that it can achieve the goal of generating that feeling in the shortest possible time. This speed increase will allow more opportunities to close... Since the feeling can be achieved even in more limited time windows.
E.g. maybe a guy can generate the feeling in 45 minutes at a board game. But he's screwed if he meets a girl at a bus stop... In that situation he doesn't have enough time to generate those feelings in her. And she won't give him any more time than the situation allows organically.
So get better... And also faster.
[–]eitherbakedorbaking 0 points1 point2 points 6 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree with you for the most part except your comment about my lack of consideration of objective physical attractiveness as a factor. Of course it's a factor when considering a potential partner. I didn't mention it because 1) I was discussing both romantic AND platonic relationships, the latter of which looks is most definitely not as important and 2) it's so obvious I felt it unnecessary to include.
It's interesting how you say "in my experience it's a vanishingly rare woman who self-reflects." Funny, I've found the same thing about men. And women. And most people in general. If anything, I've found women to be far more mature emotionally than the average man. There are studies which prove such things, but let's not go there.

Could keep staking her instagram and wait for the day she announces they broke up. Good game bro lol.
From what I’ve seen, sometimes it’s just to let things go and don’t always push for it. Great that you at least tried.
It seems he’s satisfied with being subservient. Perhaps he’s afraid of seeming like a nice guy ?
Don’t be friends with girls you approach. Especially if she LJBF rejects you. That’s submitting yourself to her will and you will lose in the long term.
Why did you get her Instagram? Don’t use buffers. Accepting a friendship or any kind of contact in hopes that someday she’ll be interested in you is a waste of time. If she gives you a clear no, then you bid her farewell and move on to the next girl.
Furthermore, you completely screwed yourself by failing what could have been a shit test. If she says “I have a boyfriend,” (keeping nonverbal signs in mind) she may be testing you and looking for a confident response like “he doesn’t have to know” or “not one like me” or something.

I'd say avoid using "maybe". It shows lack of confidence. You know what you want, be confident in it. "We should go get coffee sometime". You know you want it, and if she wants it as well, she'll say yes.
