My whole life I thought my life sucked because I couldn't find a girlfriend. So I spent my first 3 years of college working my ass off with the goal being to find one. I lost 100 lbs, got a high gpa and set myself up perfectly for a great career, I ran a half marathon, and started some cool hobbies. All because I wanted to attract a girl. And guess what, it worked my senior year.

But then it immediately backfired. Because my only life goal was get a girlfriend, the moment I found one I gave up. I made the relationship my only focus in my life. I gained all the weight back, ended up accepting a job where I make under $20 / hour, and gave up my hobbies/other relationships. She quickly dumped me, and 3.5 years later I still am picking up the peices.

Point is, sex is NOT something that makes your life happy and fulfilled. It's the byproduct of living a happy and fulfilled life. Learn how to improve you for you, and the sex and everything else will eventually come (no pun intended). I struggle with this too, but I've at least gotten to the point where I know constantly chasing girl isn't the answer to being happier (hence why I don't come around this sub much anymore). Having sex will not make you "not depressed". Having sex will give you a few moments of "happiness" and then you will realize that you are still not happy. Be happy with yourself first. I had sex a few times when I was feeling down and after it was done I ended up feeling way worse than when I started.

Let’s say a girl is using weights and your weight station is near hers. When she’s about to finish..you can sort of casually node your head and clap saying impressive 😅 then continue doing your thing. Don’t talk to her or follow her..by doing these things you can cause her to start noticing you! Then little by little if you see her again (another day) smile at her and move on. Go back to doing your thing.. so she doesn’t feel creeped out! If you two come across in a similar area (or another day) ask her a question about how long she has been training or whatever..related to her workout…typically you want to wait and see if she asks you a question.. so you can get the hint if she’s bothered, not interested or interested!

By definition what you've described OP cannot be depression. As clinical depression is when you get very very very sad, with no real cause. But in this case, your apparent sadness / "depression" is due to not having sex. Just like how people can't get depression clinically because their grandparent died.

Sometimes bad things will trigger a depression but unless your brain chemistry is broked, chances are you will come out of it

My advice, humble yourself and realise that nobody is entitled to sex and then you will stop perceiving yourself as missing out.

Now obviously what I've said is quite oversimplified so take it with a grain of salt

When you don't have sex and you watch porn and masturbate frequently then you will surely have depression. It is fine to not have sex for a while and focus on other areas of your life but do not watch porn and masturbate to fill the void coz you will eventually find girls sooner or later.
