This is about 2 days before, i was working on a project in my library with my buddy. a cute girl came and sat across from me; she was shy and introverted but had flawless skin. she was wearing headphones and was working on something, so i waited for her to take a break. as soon as she got up from her seat, i went and said, "You look cute, and I wanted to say hi, What's your name?".

She was already impressed that somebody had approached her. i asked her what year she was, and she said 1st (i'm 4th), didn't let it bother me. I said, "you have such a beautiful smile, why weren't you smiling at the seat?", she goes on that she was feeling a bit low and we started walking to the park. She says that she's bored and wanted a breath of fresh air. I started teasing about how 1st years just come to the library before the exams and not to read books, which was true and she was reciprocating by laughing. We grab a seat at the park bench, she starts to compliment me on how charming and well-spoken I am, but she starts to interrogate as if it's an interview (asking about whether i had siblings, whether I was vegetarian or not). i tried to switch a few times, but then it got repetitive, and i had to call out. She started to bring up things like roommates' suicide and negative stuff, i just said, "I'm sorry for that," and moved on.

She said that she was looking for a senior as a mentor, and I said, "I definitely can't be that, i'm here only for the trouble" . This convo lasted about an hour, without me revealing anything about myself. after an hour, her two guy friends spot her, and they crash our convo with a bunch of dumb shit about marks and faculty gossip. the girl was more into that than me :(. They were not leaving, and i also got a call, so i had to take it. once the two boys were gone, i resumed our convo. I asked her to promise that she wouldn't make it a mentorship program and would be in it for the fun. She laughs, and i proceed to ask for her number, she gives it. I say goodbye to her by saying that i would call her over a coffee this week. She says she would love to join.

Fast forward 2 days, i called her today. She didn't pick up, and then I pinged her a msg letting her know that we are doing coffee tonight. she just said, "i got work" and nothing else. I reply, "No worries. work comes first. We’ll do it another time when you’re less worried about classes. Enjoy your Friday."

She blocked me after that.

I know i should have stretched the first convo and should have ejected at a high. Till now 5 girls have cancelled my date. I'm so chopped.

PS: I didn't know how to calibrate, as this is the first time the girl wasn't shit-testing much. the girl is 20, i'm 22, and she's a bit too shy, and it's probably her first time that somebody had cold approached her.
