Does everyone in seddit use the Mystery Method as their go-to reference?

Mystery's lingo is common here because he's one of the pioneers of modern seduction and many of his terms have caught on and are used widely in the seduction community now to ease discussion of all methods of seduction.

Mystery Method provides a good framework of how game and social interactions work. Just because you already do a lot of the things you read about, doesn't mean that it was meaningless to read it. It helps immensely to read examples and to understand the science behind why what you do works. Your brain understands things better when you can put those things into words, and then you can apply the concepts better (this goes beyond seduction).

Surprisingly, MM has never seemed very popular around here to me; I see haters often. I think it's because of the robotic, step-by-step nature of it, but that's one of the appeals to me. He really breaks it down to a detailed science, so it's easy to study it and see why it works.

Most people here subscribe to the more natural, "improve yourself, become a social person, live the seduction lifestyle, and the girls will follow" sort of game, preached by those such as David Wygant. Honestly, you just need to learn a little bit about everything and see what suits you best. The key is to be genuine. If you are practicing game that isn't congruent with yourself, then others will see right through it and you'll get no results. Then you either have to change yourself or your game.

I think it's safe to assume most people here don't use Mystery Method as their go-to reference. The lingo is used and some of the techniques are discussed, but otherwise, I think most people don't appreciate Mystery too much.

The terminology of mystery method, yes.

Not a lot of people on seddit use routines based pickup though. It's universally reviled despite being hella effective.

Mystery was fundamental in the creation of the overall community and where it went. The terms he applied definitely became mainstream though they've changed considerably. Just because you see a bunch of jargon on here reminds you Mystery doesn't mean its everyone default.

Mystery Method is kind of the common language in pickup, since it so many other pickup systems are related to it. I think most people who talk about pickup assume the basic M3 model and associated jargon are common knowledge.

He's a pioneer in the field, or at least one of the first prominent settlers
His strategy is well thought out
His material is well and thoroughly written, even if it is a little boring
Lots of people are familiar with his material
Part of his thorough documentation includes definitions, descriptions, and nicknames or acronyms for common concepts.

Sure, while a lot of people don't care for his method (per se) or tactics, the simple fact that a lot of people are familiar enough with it to not care for it, combined with the fact that it's thorough, make it ideal for a common foundation of discussion.

Mystery Method is not my go-to reference. It's too complicated, it fucked with my head, and made me feel like I had to learn a ton of stuff just to get girls to like me. Nowadays, I take the approach that "it's a numbers game" and just approach as many women as I can. My go-to references would be things like Practical Pickup, etc.

The Mystery Method was formed with a few specifics in mind. It's for :-

1. Picking up hot girls with evidential popularity as observed by things like the amount of guys approaching her, her attractive character, her looks. She is assigned a number based on these factors. Basically if she is truly a 10, she is Angelina Jolie.
2. Picking up in a nightclub or other setting where you have ten seconds to make the right impression.
3. Picking up different girls, consistently, for the purpose of sexual intercourse either that same day or the next.

The Mystery Method has been derived from studying the mating process as it occurs in your average popular nightclub.

Where people go wrong is when they try to generalise the method to every other environment where they don't need to quickly create the impression of rarity to some girl who is jaw dropping beautiful, popular and a success in her field.

Where they also go wrong is assigning a 10 to girls who are just clearly not. 10 is the epitome of charisma, beauty, success, talent and popularity. However the number scale is adaptable to each venue and you must make a judgement call on the types of girls in each place and there is always a hierarchy of girls therein.

In my opinion, Mystery Method is the fundamental PUA study. All other pickup is a continuation of it. To be clear on that, you have stuff like David DeAngelo, but not all of his stuff is pickup, it's also self help.

If you can honestly say you regularly and consistently pick up the hottest girl in the whole club, the most popular one, that you walk right into her social circle and take her aside to make out with her before taking her home that evening to have sex, or, if you are just not into that sort of thing, then you don't need to read the Mystery Method.
