I get that the friend zone is not the goal for anyone in this sub. I get that this girl is super attractive and you want to bang her in the worst way. I even get that feeling of rejection hurts. You feel that you failed, or you aren't good enough, and that can eat away at you late at night.

But we have got to stop treating the friend zone as some sort of fail state. I have to think that it's not healthy to think of all women as A) Potential Mates or B) Not worth our time, but that's not what I'll be focusing on. Instead I want to give a few quick reasons why you should embrace the friend zone (sometimes).

Quick Disclaimer Embracing friendship with women does not mean spend all your time with them, heed their every beck and call, or act like their boyfriend without benefits. It is perfectly natural to spend less time and energy on them.

Benefits of the Friend zone

  • They will introduce you to friends!

Ladies tend to have other lady friends. And if you prove yourself to be a fun, attractive, available guy who just may not be the right fit for her, she will happily introduce you to some of her friends. If she's setting you up, you will probably be a better match.

  • Honest advice on your game.

Ignoring the obvious bits like fashion help & decorating your apartment tips, ladies are more than happy to help you up your game. I've had friend girls tell me when I was being an absolute pig. I've had friend girls tell me when I was being desperate & clingy. I've had friend girls tell me that they were inches from jumping my bones, but didn't want to be a home wrecker (my fault for attempting to date before the official divorce). My point is that it's good to get perspective from the other side here as even the most experienced playboys can have difficulty explaining the Why behind a girl's decision making process.

  • You will get speaking practice which will raise your confidence.

This is especially true of you young guys. If you don't spend a lot of time around women, consider heading out with a girl as a friend a few times. You will learn some common habits and techniques in a safer space which will lead to a smooth pick up game once it comes time to seal the deal in other ways.

  • Dancing practice (I desperately needed this)

A lot of you guys don't need this, but I sure as hell did. I was clunky and awkward on the dance floor and I did not impress. Actually I'm still not much better, but one of my friend's is graciously helping me out. Some women will be absolutely off the table if you don't dance, so if you have two left feet, like I do, consider going dancing and get a friend to help you out.

  • And just because they are a 'friend' now, doesn't mean you won't change their mind. I wouldn't focus on the attempt, but it can happen.

Let's please just stop treating the friend zone as some sort of 'Relationship Hell'. Being friend's with a girl has lots of advantages.
