So this just happened. I just finished working and I went on my bus. I saw a really cute girl sitting in the middle of the bus but I decided to sit in the back of the bus. I felt a twinge of regret thinking damn, I could've said hi. THEN outta nowhere she had to move to the back for some reason AND she sat next to me. CUE SWAGMODE.

I think I waited like 3 seconds to decide in my head if I was going for it. And I said fuck it, I've done crazier things running around hitting on women in the city (I just started practicing approaching women in the day again.). So, I started it. I didn't know what to say so I said the first things that came to my mind. I told her something along the lines of "Hey, I saw you at the front of the bus and now you are sitting here. I thought you were kinda cute." At this point, she had a smile and she looked away to the window to her right. So, a smile means a green light right? I extended out my hand and said "Hi, my name is Chefporkchop." She looked away even more. Still smiling. Wtf.

So now there was this awkward thing going on and I pointed out the awkardness. I then told the black mother who was sitting to my right side to tell the girl who was ignoring me with a smile to tell her that the guy next to her was hitting on her. At this point she was still smiling. The dude to her right also had a laugh. I asked him to tell her that too. There was a part where she couldn't hold her laughter in and she bursted out laughing only to hold herself back again.

She also whipped out her cellphone after I said the initial hi and started texting her friend, probably about what was happening.

I then felt a huge wave of "areyoufuckingkiddingme" wash over me. She was still smiling. But now she was ignoring me. However, after I started talking more to the black woman and the black woman aws smiling and she was telling me that the girl was just shy. Then the guy to her right, laughing said : "you should talk to him, he sounds like a cool guy." thanks stranger-wingman! :D

that's when the girl looked at me and finally talked to me. She said "Just stop. stop." Her tone sounded half serious, half light. I then stopped. I saw the guy next to her was making some music on his cellphone so I asked the girl to tap him on the shoulder. She taps him.

I then strike up a conversation with the guy about music. Then I just didn't care. She was next to me and now she was like nothing to me. I felt pretty good though. I then talked to the guy to my left and we struck up a meaningful conversation about life and jobs. I apparently had the same job field as him but the man went from a management position to moving boxes in a random factory. I was amazed at that man's history.

After a while, two people next to the girl left, she moved to the far right. (We were all sitting in the waaay back of the bus.) then, when her stop came, which was like in a minute, she left. I continued to talk to the guy to my left, he had a very interesting life and I was bouncing off my ideas off of him. he had some wisdom. Then, my stop came, we shook hands and left.

What did I do wrong? My theory was that she was probably shy, she was probably feeling good feelings but it overwhelmed her or something, she never got hit on in a bus openly like that... idk. Any ideas? Where can I improve?

tl;dr: I hit on a girl on the bus. She looked away, trying to ignore me. I kept going until she said stop. She smiled for most of the interaction. What did I do wrong?
