When you meet someone special that you really like, you’ll change your mind. You have a shallow and somewhat immature perspective in my opinion, which is okay because you’re only 20. You’ll grow and opinions will change. Just do whatever you’re feeling at the moment. Unfortunately for some people life becomes more isolated and lonely as you grow old. Just one thing to consider.

Also - you’re probably more likely to hear about relationship horror stories than you are the success stories. Probably just as many good relationships as there are bad. Many people go through many relationships before they find one worth sticking around for.

Brother, I realize that this comes from you being quiet young and inexperienced but trust me: a relationship with the right person can be drama free and filled with amazing sex.

Hooking up with drunk chicks at the club is easy with enough repetition. Getting into a meaningful relationship is way harder but it’s much more fulfilling.

You're taking a step in somewhat of a right direction, but there's more to go. Unless your growth just halts you will move past this phase eventually, when you realize that the lifestyle you're imagining going towards now is just as hollow. I have been there.

I agree that doing relationship just for someone to touch and fuck, as a status symbol or to fulfill societal expectations are all bad reasons to go for relationship. It's also a pretty bad idea to go for relationship to feel fulfilled, if you're not already whole there's nobody else out there who can really make you whole.

You did right throwing that weight off your shoulders, as did I earlier in life. What you're doing different from me though is to resist and go to the other extreme. I just stopping chasing relationship, but I didn't resist it altogether, I accepted that it may or may not happen and found a way to be fulfilled either way.

Upon reaching my own realization I was expecting to just have casual uncommitted relationships, one night stands and short flings. That's what I deemed likely to happen because I couldn't imagine finding a woman I genuinely can't get enough of, one free of drama, one to be free together with, one who's easy and enjoyable to be with. That was fine, I could live and thrive without someone like that, but I did not resist it were to become a possibility.

A possibility it became when I met her, the woman who is now my wife. I didn't have to chase her, I didn't have to game her, she made it easy for me (but far from easy in general), she hates drama as much as I do and she just generally doesn't do anything to make me feel bad. We've been together for 10 years and I regret nothing about her.

I didn't enter the relationship to fulfill societal expectations, I don't give a damn about that, even if it came from my parents, it's my life. I didn't enter the relationship to feel fulfilled in any way, I felt perfectly fulfilled already and at that point perhaps more than ever before. I didn't enter a relationship just have someone to touch and fuck, I knew how to get that with relative ease without having to commit to anything.

The reasons I did enter the relationship was because I wanted to share my life with someone (worthy of course). Someone who knows me better than anyone else, someone for me to know better than anyone else, on every level of intimacy. Friends and such doesn't quite get to that level, it's not the same. I also wanted, with time, to create a family. Making kids in casual relationships is messy and irresponsible. I am aware that it can turn messy in more committed relationships/marriages, which is why it's all the more important to be absolutely fucking sure you picked the right partner in life.

I would rather have been alone my entire life than to be with the wrong woman, but I would also rather be with the right woman than to be alone. I didn't know I'd end up married with a great wife and have kids, I wouldn't if I didn't let go of everything pressuring me towards that because I would have picked the wrong woman for sure with that shit clouding my judgement. I could only know this woman is the right one because my judgement of her wasn't clouded by needs and pressures. Only one thing mattered "does her presence in my life feel good?", the moment the answer to that question would have been "no" I would have left her. So far the answer has remained a "yes", so here we are still together 10 years later.

This might have never happened, I was fully at peace with that idea, to be by myself and just enjoy fleeting company for whatever while it lasts. My plan was literally to just have fun, fuck around and see what happens. I was having a great time and then I just got lucky along the way.

I still don't know for sure if my marriage will hold for life, but there's no indications it won't. In any case my mindset goes beyond it, I will enjoy it for however long it's enjoyable.

I will reiterate that you're going somewhat in the right direction, but I think you're a fool for resisting the idea of relationship.

Do have fun, go explore and do prioritize having a good time in life. Maybe you have casual sex with dozens of women who you're feeling isn't quite fit for a relationship with you, but if you one day blow off the woman who you on some level feel might potentially be a good fit because you have decided to resist relationships, you will likely regret it. You could miss it because you've closed yourself off from it.

I would advise you to not close yourself off like that. You can be open to it without having expectations with every girl you meet, it's in fact better without any expectations. Maybe you never meet someone you feel for the same way I feel for my wife, but you're still not missing anything compared to resisting the idea altogether. There's just a chance you'll miss less because you're not closed off from it.

Nobody needs relationships. But they are something that can allow you learning many useful things for life. And enjoy it a lot.

If you ask me, it's something you can't choose, you don't choose it. Specially if you look for it!

Instead just think about socializing and meeting great girls and also boys (as friends, or whatever,) in your life. Have great experiences with them. Meet people similar and also different to you.

When you find interesting connections... Then some Magic can happen there? Be patient.

But hey, you are still very young. Many maaaaany people still takes longer to find a relationship. Just focus in your personal growth... Which is something that you should do anyway, no matter if you are in a relationship or not.

Good for you. Half the people who want a relationship do so basically because they believe regular sex comes with it. The most effective "seduction techniques" aren't appropriate, sustainable, or good, for a healthy relationship. They're absolutely for what you're looking to do.

You're still young. Try to find more purpose in your life and see women as having more value beyond providing a means to an end aka sex. When you meet a great woman it's a wonderful journey. A bad one can be hell. So screen carefully and spend time getting to know them.
