I was seeing a French guy, and one night I ended up at his place. We were in his bed, alone, and it was obvious we were about to hook up. The tension was already there. There was no uncertainty about why I was there or how we both felt.

Out of nowhere, he started talking about another girl he had slept with recently. He said her boobs were so big it was “disgusting.” Then he looked at me and completely shifted tone and said mine were perfect. He specifically said they were perfect handfuls, especially with my small frame.

For context, I’m petite with D cups, so it wasn’t subtle. It was a direct comparison.

It didn’t make me feel insecure. If anything, it made me more curious about what his motivation was. The attraction was already there. He already had me there.

From a male perspective, what motivates saying something like that right before hooking up?

Was he trying to increase attraction? Create psychological tension? Validate himself? Or is this something men do without thinking?
