IMO it’s best to always meet for a drink first even if it’s a one night stand. It’s never happened to me but I’ve had friends who have had some bad experiences with hookups

This is a great post because it’s a desire for a lot of guys to want something like this but there is a flaw in the way most go after this.

The issue I see in your approach is you’re thinking it needs to go from “hey” to “wanna f*ck” immediately. That’s not how building attraction works. What about you, your lifestyle, and your personality would a woman be interested in who WANTS to be your fwb? If you can convey these, first and foremost, it makes your situation much better.

IMO, texting and apps are tools to get you meeting up in person. Work through the levels of attraction in your text to get to a date as quick and as comfortable as possible. Rarely would I exchange more than 10x texts before suggesting plans because I moved from:

Intros -> Attraction -> Comfort Building -> Closing smoothly and effectively through my texts.

In fact, every single text can fit into 5x boxes (in my opinion):

1) Silence 2) Value Testing 3) Logical 4) Flirty / Sexual 5) Plans / Closing

So…assess where you are in your interactions and move through the stages from there. I can dive into more details on HOW to respond to each of these texts later but hopefully this is good framing for your situation. It’s all about the overall context and text flow…not the short, immediate “magic bullet text”, which doesn’t exist (I’m sorry!)

Of course, in these situations it is INCREDIBLY important to be up front with your intentions. When done right, this can actually make you come off as MORE confident and a “high value person”. Of course, there’s a time and place for that.

Say something subtly suggestive. If she's looking for something casual (which is more women than you think) she'll bite the hook and either meet you half way, or escalate.

For example, I matched with my current FWB on tinder. We made small talk, she mentioned she'd just moved to my state. I said "welcome. Just in time for the cuddle weather😏." And she responded with "is that an invite? 😏"

I learned this recently. Spend less time texting and a lot more time trying to set up dates. I tried this recently and I gotten a lot more luck. The more you text the more they think you're just playing.

From my experience, the lady will let you know first if she's down to just hook up. Don't ask for location till you both decided to hang out.

Most guys waste so much time and energy asking detailed questions when that’s material to use once you’re ON the date. You wouldn’t go up to someone and ask how many siblings they have, would you?
