How do I keep a girl interested after setting up a date more than a week later?

I've been in that situation before multiple times. Each time I set up a first date with a girl more than a week out, I didn't text her at all until the day of the date to make sure we were still on. Later on in the date, they mentioned that she really liked that I didn't text her all the time before the first date. As I see it, if you do a bunch of texting before the first date, then you've expelled a lot of talking points that you could have had for the date itself. Also note that all girls are different, but I would strongly recommend keeping texting to a bare minimum.

It's tough and I'm no pro so hopefully someone else can weigh in but I've tried sending pics of stuff that's going on in my life that they "might be missing out on". Nothing major - just like, "I made this delicious pizza bread (show pic) it's sooooo good! Want me to fedex you a piece? ;)" Aside from dick-pics, I would try sending a cool photo here and there. Could be a nice view from wherever or a common interest/hobby. And in case I wasn't clear before...do NOT send a dick-pic.

So wait. Instead of using the date to find out whether or not you like her enough for a second date, you're planning ahead for the second date before the first one?

That's kind of a bad attitude. Just enjoy the date. Find out if you're compatible. If you like each other, then it will be no problem to set up a second date. And if you don't, then why would you want to have another date.

Also, if this is about sex (this is still seddit after all), then plan on having sex on the first date and don't worry about the second date.

Other than that, work on yourself. Passions, confidence, people skills. If you're an interesting enough person she will want to see you again.

Nothing, literally nothing, the best thing you can do is nothing and let her imagination run wild. If that doesn't do the trick, she wasn't interested in the first place.

By texting you can only shoot yourself in the foot.

Strangely enough, I think it depends on the girl. A girl my brother was seeing said her friend thought I was cute so they hooked us up. So this isn't usually my thing, but we talked for two weeks straight, all day through texting and neither of us got bored once. It was never "hey how's it going?" "What's up?", it was always fun and engaging conversation. We set up the date for last Friday about a week into it and had (what I thought) was an amazing time, never running out of things to say. She was up at 545am so I didn't keep her at the restaurant longer than midnight. She had just moved back home too, so we were both living with our parents so no fun that night. Then she drifted... Things weren't the same, I could tell. She said something like her and her ex were talking again (guy lives halfway across the country in Alberta) , which made sense I guess. I saw she had just added him on Facebook again, and she told me he wasn't 100% out of the picture. She told me from the start she planned to move to BC in 6 months so it had a time limit on the relationship to begin with. Lame cause she told me I was the first guy she's wanted to hang out with for a year and then boom, see ya. Just sucks because she was telling me all this stuff she wanted to try (threesome, anal, tying her up...) so I'm kind of sad I'm missing out on that hahaha. I have a feeling she was just shallow, but I could swear I was looking fly as hell that night. Anyone here have an opinion on the situation?

TLDR: depends on the girl, woops kind of went overboard and explained my own problem.

I usually do a small interaction building text halfway away from the date.

An interaction building text has this key parts:

-Her name/a nickname you've given her

-An (interesting)event that happened to you

-Humor

-An hook for interaction ( What do you think? And you? These guys are jerks!)

Here are a few examples

"Hi Anna,how you doing? Today I made the best risotto ever, all my friends loved it! I bet I'm a better cook than you :P"

"Hey, miss writes-stupid-shit-under-profile-pics, today I went to that cool photography exibition near the city center, X's work was amazing. Have you been there?"(We are assuming she is into photography)

"Yo, it's mr. Knows-about-Bukowski! (A nickname for you is cool aswell) Have you ever been to club-x? Last night was a blast!"

idk man, whatever funny shit you come up with. Just answer slowly over the day, and you have kept her interest

The best way to avoid this is not to schedule a date a week in advance with a girl you've just met. That shows way too much priority. A couple days is ideal. If the weekend looks open but not the days you are trying to schedule it (assuming earlier in the week) don't even schedule it. Just say, "hey well we can catch up later", and then hit her up on Friday like "hey what are you up to this weekend?"

As far as keeping interest is concerned, don't even worry about that part. You'll need to regenerate interest over the course of the date anyway. keeping her waiting could even be a good thing. I have one girl on the hook right now who I haven't texted for a couple of weeks, but I bet I could still get her out. I would be like "hey, what's up", and she'd text back and then I'd go there. once you've met a girl, "hey what's up" or "hey whatchu been up to" is actually a decent opener, like it makes it obvious that you're interested in what's been going on with her even though you haven't talked to her in a while.
