Great question, most guys don't even realize it's a problem.

Roger Love has a program called Vocal Power. You can get it on Amazon for less than $100, or you may be able to find it for free.

It has a breakdown and excercises you can practice. Do those on a daily basis, and you'll see drastic improvement.

The other key factor is diaphragmatic breathing. It'll make you a vocal power house. People tremble when I tell them to get out of my way. Women love my voice. This is why looks don't matter.

The improvements are far beyond getting girls and well worth it.

You have to 'get out of your head'. If your consciousness is 'in your head' you use your 'head voice' which is nasally and weak. The solution is 'speaking from your diaphram' but it's not a technique, it's a state of mind.

'Self-esteem' is the degree in which you're not 'in your head', you're not 'thinking', you're not in the logical headspace. There's never a just reason to be in your head; you only become 'self-conscious' when you feel threatened in some way, so the degree in which you are in your head shows that to everyone. It's indicating 'low status'.

One of the ways that is reflected is in your voice, your voice is a symptom. There's a lot of other symptoms such as not having the energy behind your words because it's being monopolized by the hamster wheel in your head, not being able to hold eye-contact, being twitchy and reactive, fumbling and stumbling, not having a clear train of thought, etc. You can't solve any of those on the symptom level, you have to change your state of mind.

Again, it's focus, it's a meditative practice. All you have to do is relax your body and shift your awareness to anywhere else but your mind; the pressure of your weight on the floor, the colour of her eyes, anything. Maintaining that is another question, you could tense up and feel 'threatened' 2 seconds later and be back in your mind. It's simple, it's not 'easy'; it's the core of 'real self-esteem'.

To get over that hurdle, you want to read 'Letting Go by David Hawkins' so you can learn how to process and release the feelings that involuntarily make you feel 'threatened', stifle you and make you behave this way.

It might sound a bit much but it's the comprehensive answer; anything else is just fronting and wont 'work'. All in all, it's not dificult for what you're asking for, if that's all you have to do to be the most charismatic person in a social event going forward, it's not that much but real 'change' requires work. If you could just do it, it loses its value.

I second Roger Love. Still going through his book but he's a renowned vocal coach that helps with this process
Smiling or laughing helps, even if you don't change your voice. Part of the problem with a monotone voice is that you seem unhappy, miserable, or angry. I realized part of the reason why some people don't seem friendly to me is because I don't look friendly. If you can change that impression, then you will get better results.
My voice is monotone and my face is pretty expressionless. I have worked in a lot of jobs that require talking with clients/customers, like being a waiter or working in sales. I will deliberately add inflection to my voice. It's like posture - it feels unnatural at first, but that's just because you don't do it. One of the funny things is that even when I feel like I've been overdoing it, when I've listened to recordings, I'm still very monotone.

You have just found a reason not to approach a woman - your voice! You are the biggest critic of yourself, do you know what anorexics do? They are as weak as a rake, but when they look in the mirror they still say they need to lose some weight, it is never enough - and the same is you, you are never going to be happy with your voice.

Do you realize how clever your brain is? Now it is your voice, later it will be your height/weight, your clothes, people walking on the street, there are no women in your town... and on and on .... Better to think about starting a conversation with a girl, forget about the masculine voice, low tone, voice projection - just obstacles, you will fix everything in time, but the more you postpone, the worse it is.

Record your voice talking normally. Then record your voice telling a story adding dynamics to your voice.
