I say "morally upstanding" on its face.

I don't mean "here, let me kiss your ass and bail you out and do whatever you want so you'll like me".

Nor do I mean "here, let me do all of this good stuff then brag about it as loud as possible soon afterwards so you'll like me".

What I'm talking about is genuinely good character, reflected in actions. Like when she finds out he does charity work, spending time and money for good causes, yet doesn't brag or even bring the situation up.

I've heard some people say this sort of thing is meaningless in the dating market, and others think that combined with a steadfast demeanor is intensely appealing.
