You need to take a more laid back approach to interactions with people. Don't classify, don't block them in, just wait and cast judgement later. Make decisions later. You could've told her that you could meet, sure, why not? Doesn't have to mean anything. Perhaps you'd both have a better thing than the other girl you see, or perhaps you'd like both and go with it. Eventually, they ask, then you have decisions to make.

Two things here:

You're not married; unless you're really feeling this girl you've started dating, you don't have any obligation to be monogamous. Especially if you're not even having sex with anyone at the moment. Just dating is pretty harmless and non-threatening.
In the really unlikely even that this was the girl's friend testing you, you're probably better off walking into it and setting off the trap because let's be real, any girl that's going to have such a convoluted, dysfunctional way of interacting with someone she's dating, is going to be fucking drama to date and not worth the effort.
