I came across The Game a few months ago which really spoke to me. I went through high school and college mostly hooking up with whatever came my way. I would feel bad about myself because the people I attracted into my life weren’t high quality. After being in an abusive relationship, the idea of gaining the tools to attract higher quality women and friends sounded appealing. I was always shy growing up, so I feel like there’s a lot of social skills I never learned. So I have read The Game and Mystery’s Method, but I’m a little nervous to try much of it out. Aren’t women wise to this stuff by now? The Game came out nearly 20 years ago. Are there more relevant stuff today that is less transparent? Has the community evolved? I know some things are timeless (kino, authentic story telling, roughly the phases of attraction), but do I risk being seen as a creep trying to run game in today’s society, which seems very sexually repressed and like we’ve reverted to shaming sexual freedom.
