I would suggest practice flirting with women you like rather than ask for their number. Flirting with a woman is like asking for her number without really asking for it. I guess you mostly are afraid of rejection. What you need to realize is that rejection is a good thing. A woman that is attracted to you won't reject you, but the ones that aren't will. You say you "can't" approach women. Bullshit. If someone offered you a million dollars to call a girl attractive, introduce yourself and ask for her number, you'd do it.
