Someone from this sub DMed me a couple of days ago asking for fashion advice, I thought I'd post my reply to him here too incase its useful to others. You're appearance is a really important factor and most men don't have a clue about style and fashion. On the flip side most women are really interested in fashion so if you're one of the few guys who does it right you'll stand out and be viewed as an attractive guy.

The easiest thing to do when you're learning about men's style is to look at someone who is well dressed and follow their look. When you're following a look pay attention to the little details, most men dont but women notice these details which can make you stand out. Ryan Gosling is extremely stylish so I'll use him as an example. In this photo he's really casually dressed in a pair of jeans and t shirt

But pay attention to the details, his jeans have a nice cut they are slim fit, he's wearing a granddad top in a colour that goes with the jeans, the details are that he's rolled up the sleeves of the top, it's not because he's warm it's a deliberate style detail. By rolling up the top you can see he's wearing a nice watch with a leather strap, another deliberate detail. He's also wearing a chain around his neck and has a fashionable pair of sun glasses. Also rather than a tatty pair of sneakers he's wearing a pair of distressed boots which is deliberate. If you wanted to copy this look make sure you copy the details like the slim cut of the jeans, rolling up the sleeves, wearing a chain, watch, and wearing a very similar pair of sun glasses. It's all the little details coming together that make it stylish.

Here's another image of him in smarter clothes, look at the details again

Again the sleeves of the shirt are rolled up to show a nice watch with a brown leather strap. Notice that his belt and shoes are also brown leather so they all match and again He has a similar pair of sun glasses.

Here's one more, again look at the details, he's wearing a chain necklace. He's using layering which is a common men's style trick, he has white t shirt underneath and a shirt layered on top. He has a short sleeve shirt this time but look at the sleeves, they're deliberately rolled up. He has a watch with a leather strap, the strap is brown which matches his belt and probably matches his shoes he has a slim fit pair of trousers and the colours of the trousers and the shirt go well together.

There are plenty of other celebrities who are well dressed like Ryan Renolds, David Beckham and Chris Hemsworth. Here's one more example of Chris Hemsworth https://i2-prod.chroniclelive.co.uk/incoming/article24422295.ece/ALTERNATES/s1200c/0_CBeebies-story.jpg

He's wearing a linen suit with white t shirt, that in itself is a style detail because you usually wear a shirt. He's wearing plain white sneakers which are very fashionable at the moment, he also has a chain necklace and he has a couple of bracelets on his wrist

The general rule with these images is the details I pointed out, without the little touches and accessories it isn't as stylish. But be careful with accessories, wearing dozens of necklaces and bracelets like Johnny Depp does will almost certainly look bad , in all the images I showed you the accessorising is subtle.

The hardest part of putting together an outfit once you understand these basic rules is colour coordination so I'd recommend just copying the colours of outfits you find online. GQ magazine can be quite good, I used to buy their physical magazine every months when I first got into men's fashion but they have a good website too for inspiration plus there are loads of mens fashion blogs Just Google mens style, click on the images tab and find looks that you like.
