Hi everyone,

Hope you're all doing fuckin awesome. Just a quick one today.

So what brought me to seddit in the first place was a situation with a girl (duh). This girl and I met, really hit it off and things moved fast. She ended up in my bed after the first date and could not stop texting me and trying to see me following this.

I think this made me feel I had all the permission I needed to drop the not caring act and get totally invested. In doing so, I quickly became extremely clingy, developed a serious case of oneitis and obviously this resulted in my driving her away.

I'm not here to get her back, I'm not here to go out and bang every 10/10 chick I see etc. I have mature, serious reasons for being here. If anything, this whole fling made me realise that when I was just being myself and was completely relaxed and confident, I had an extremely hot girl that I really liked falling head over heels for me. So I'm here to correct the neediness, develop proper inner game and learn to be a man.

I'm reading tons of stuff, making interactions with girls I don't know, and focusing on my goals - exercise, uni, music etc. and I'm really really happy with my progress.

I feel like I'm pretty much over the girl. I've recognised my mistakes and how I drove her away, she contacted me and we left things on good terms with no animosity. I'm happy to say I've reached the point where I can say I know that she isn't unique, special or different in any way that no other girl can be unique, special or different. I know there are as good/better girls out there for me that I can have an abundance of.

Here's where I'm struggling just a little bit; even though I don't have those strong feelings for the girl any more and I've come to terms with everything, I still struggle slightly to "forgive myself"... Does that resonate with anyone? I don't really know how else to put it. I'm over the girl, but knowing how much I did like her, and knowing she wanted me and all I had to do was let her come to me at her pace, makes me somewhat angry with myself. Sometimes I think about how different things could be now if I'd not acted stupid. I've dealt with the rest of it - I'm over it. Its just the knowledge that I could've had her and ruined it makes me angry at myself and this seems to be a recurring theme.

Just wondering if any of you guys dealt with something similar when you first decided to start improving yourselves and if so, how did you deal with it?

All/any advice welcome of course

TL;DR: Even though I'm over the girl, have dropped the oneitis, and focused on moving forward, part of me is still angry with myself for ruining it in the first place. How do I forgive myself and stop blaming myself?

Thanks guys!
